Marvin Jones has never cracked the 1,000 yard receiving mark in his three seasons with the Bengals but did have a 10 TD season is 2013. The 6-foot-2 WR is about to celebrate his 26th birthday in a few days and joins a Lions squad in the prime of his career.
The Lions should still continue to look at the WR position and could possibly invest a high draft pick on adding talent through the NFL draft.
Fantasy Impact: Jones will lineup as the Lions’ new No. 1 receiver (and top red-zone option) opposite Golden Tate in a complementary role. Tate is known more as a yards after the catch target, so the goal may be to find another big target on the outside and keep Tate moving in mismatch situations. Neither WR are currently great fantasy targets at this point and until the Lions run through their collection of draft picks we would suggest you hold off on making any sort of dynasty trades.
The Lions will have to rethink their offense this season after losing Megatron who was a monster threat that kept defense’s scrambling for coverage on every play.
