Week 17 DRAFT Targets + Holiday Signup Bonus

DRAFT.com Fantasy Targets for Week 17

DRAFT 1At DRAFT there’s no worrying about your opponent having the same player as you. But hey, there is a good chance you already know this about DRAFT and that is why you are reading this article, and if you didn’t, make sure you get over to draft.com and check it out. In this article, I will give you my top two targets on DRAFT at each of the three eligible position spots: QB, RB, and WR/TE.

The toughest fantasy football week of the season is upon us and my advice for you is to make sure that any player you put fantasy stock in this week is going to play the entire game. The Week 17 dynamic is going to make this week on DRAFT a fun one. The bad news is you won’t get a clueless opponent that selects Todd Gurley with the first overall pick because DRAFT lists draftable players by their projected points system. The good news is that you have found the right article to guide you through your drafts with ease.

DRAFT Week 17 Quarterbacks

Matthew Stafford

Lions vs. Packers

  • Draft Point Average: 17.1

Matthew Stafford FantasyIn an otherwise meaningless game, Matt Stafford may be in the best fantasy matchup of any quarterback this week. Division games do make these type of games more interesting but after Green Bay was knocked out of the playoffs in heartbreaking fashion against Carolina and then shutout at home against Minnesota I find it hard to believe they play with the normal fire and passion they otherwise would.

Stafford has thrown multiple touchdown passes in six consecutive games against the Packers, which is tied for the longest streak for any opponent in Green Bay history. In their last five games they have allowed 14 touchdown passes. Even though Stafford has been banged up and hasn’t played his best as of late, nine of the last 11 quarterbacks to face the Packers have logged top-16 fantasy results. One of those quarterbacks was DeShone Kizer, who looked like he was a pro-bowl caliber quarterback. Stafford should be able to bounce back at home where his 2017 TD-to-INT ratio is 14:3.

Not to mention, Stafford has been amazing against Green Bay as of late with QB6, QB8 and QB2 finishes in his last three against the Packers. He ranks fourth in the NFL in 20-plus-yard pass plays (57) and Green Bay has allowed the league’s ninth-most completions (51) of 20-plus yards. Marvin Jones and Golden Tate have also ate against Green Bay lately and this trio could have a monster day at Ford Field.

Jimmy Garoppolo

49ers @ Rams

  • Draft Point Average: 15.0

Jimmy Garoppolo continues to impress as he is still undefeated as the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. He has put together back-to-back top-ten fantasy results and surprised many last week as he threw two touchdowns and ran for another in the 49ers upset victory against the strong Jacksonville defense.

Since Garoppolo became the starter, the 49ers have scored on 57.5 percent (23-of-40) of their drives, the highest rate in the league over that span. The offense completely different animal then it was just over a month ago and Garoppolo’s 1,250 passing yards are the most ever for a quarterback in his first four starts for a quarterback that has changed teams.

With all of that being said Jimmy G has a much easier matchup this week against a Los Angeles Rams team that has already announced they are sitting some starters including CB Trumaine Johnson, DT Aaron Donald, and OLB Robert Quinn. The Rams will most likely limit others which bodes well for the NFL’s hottest quarterback. I will be all over the former Patriots QB this week.

Non-head-to-head considerations in order:

  1. Kirk Cousins
  2. Russell Wilson
  3. Cam Newton
  4. Phillip Rivers
  5. Matt Ryan
  6. Tom Brady
  7. Drew Brees
  8. Tyrod Taylor
DRAFT Week 17 Running Backs

Alvin Kamara

Saints @ Buccaneers

  • Draft Point Average: 16.8

I liked Kamara last week in a game against Atlanta and while he wasn’t his usual fantasy-machine self he did end up with 12.5 DP last week. This week I am expecting more from the rookie fantasy god. He gets a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that has allowed eight rushing TDs in their last five games.

Kamara and Mark Ingram ran all over Tampa Bay in their Week 9 meeting, where they went for 231 combined all-purpose yards and two touchdowns. The only teams to allow more touchdowns than the Buccaneers (14) are the Bills (18) and Lions (15) this year. The two touchdowns in Week 9 both belonged to Kamara as he turned 16 touches into 152 yards.

A player as dynamic as Kamara will not be held back for two straight games. The Saints will look to put away Tampa Bay in the early going as playoff implications are on the line.

CJ Anderson

Broncos vs. Chiefs

  • Draft Point Average: 10.3

If the Denver Broncos had continued to ride CJ Anderson this season there is no telling where they’d be. He has 62.4 percent of the Denver rushing attempts over the past four weeks after having just 45 percent over his previous nine games. It seems after two monster weeks in a row the Broncos will rely more on Anderson’s legs than Paxton Lynch’s arm to close out 2017.

Anderson and the Broncos get division rival Kansas City who is preparing to rest many starters, including run-stuffer Bennie Logan. The Chiefs starting defense has allowed over 100 rushing yards in 11-of-15 and is 21st in rush yards allowed to opposing running backs. This already bad run stopping unit will most likely get worse as most of their starters will be riding the pine for this one.

With touch counts of 19, 24, 30, 23 in his last four and 110-plus yards from scrimmage in three of those games Anderson seems like a sure bet to reach the 1,000-yard milestone. He is only 54 yards away from reaching it and he has never rushed for over 1,000 yards at the collegiate or pro level before. He’ll make sure he gets there this time.

Other Considerations in order:

  1. Dion Lewis
  2. Kenyan Drake
  3. LeSean McCoy
  4. Christian McCaffrey
  5. Derrick Henry
  6. Jamaal Williams
  7. Marshawn Lynch
  8. Ezekiel Elliot

DRAFT Week 17 Wide Receivers

Keenan Allen

Chargers vs. Raiders

  • Draft Point Average: 13.6

Keenan AllenAs crazy as it sounds after the Chargers started the season 0-4 they are still playing for a playoff spot. The fact that Melvin Gordon is banged up adds fuel to Allen’s fire for this week. He has been targeted at least eight times in six consecutive games and should see double-digit targets in this situation.

Oakland hasn’t allowed a top scoring week to a primary slot WR all season and they have allowed just one top-30 week to slot receivers in 2017. However, in my opinion, it’s nothing to worry about as the Raiders have not faced a decent quarterback in almost two months. They will this week, and Allen will draw plenty of T.J. Carrie, who has been known to allow big fantasy days.

The fact that the raw numbers suggest this spot is not a favorable one for Allen may allow you to get him in the later stages of your draft. The Chargers implied point total this week, the playoff implications and the big play ability of Allen suggests that he has a good chance to pay off for fantasy owners this week.

Marquise Goodwin

49ers @Los Angeles Rams

  • Draft Point Average: 8.6

If you would have told me I would be writing up Marquise Goodwin in this article a month ago I would have called you crazy. But, here I am and I think a strategy to select Goodwin with the final pick of your draft could prove to be a winning move. If you select Jimmy G, you need to stack him with Goodwin.

Goodwin caught just three passes for 37 yards last week, but when you look at the fact that the Niners won the game and he was covered by Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye, two of the best cornerbacks in the NFL it’s not so bad. With Garoppollo at QB he has averaged 11.0 targets per game (leading the 49ers in targets with 39) and 106.3 receiving yards per game if you discount last week’s performance.

You have to like his chances to bounce back against a Rams defense likely to be resting at least a few of their top defensive starters. Goodwin is sneaky and I think drafting him will help you defeat your opponents this week who will most likely elect to draft bigger names with less upside.

Other considerations in order:

  1. Marvin Jones
  2. Michael Thomas
  3. Julio Jones
  4. Rob Gronkowski
  5. Larry Fitzgerald
  6. JuJu Smith-Schuster
  7. Jamison Crowder
  8. Golden Tate
