Week 1 Fantasy Rankings Player Notes
QB Caleb Williams‘ first NFL regular season game will go better than most people anticipate. There isn’t a ton of film on Caleb and first-year Titans DC Dennard Wilson may have a hard time making adjustments. SportsBooks have Caleb Williams’s prop line set at 244.5 passing yards, 16.5 rushing yards, and 1.5 passing TDs. The game total is O/U 45.5, and the Bears are 4.5 points favorites I think Caleb outperforms and shoots up the week 1 fantasy rankings board.
WR Tank Dell has to share his targets with two other very talented wide receivers, but C.J. Stroud loves finding Tank when taking deep shots. We like him against the Colts this week; try to get him into your lineup.
WR Keenan Allen has been the forgotten man in fantasy drafts this summer. However, Allen has still got gas in the tank. He could easily emerge as the trusted go-to wide receiver for Caleb Williams. We like the two of them connecting this Sunday and are high in our Week 1 fantasy rankings.
(Sleeper) TE Jonnu Smith – All the focus has been on Tua and his dynamic wide receivers and whether or not you should draft or avoid De’Von Achane this season. But Jonnu Smith is a weapon Tua hasn’t had in some time. Smith had 50 receptions for the Falcons last season, often as the TE2. Smith actually outperformed Kyle Pitts in the redzone (inside the 20-yard line) last season and brings an added wrinkle to the Dolphins offense this season. Watch for him as a possible waiver wire claim.
(Deep Sleeper) RB Gus Edwards is a sneaky flex player in our week 1 fantasy rankings. The Chargers are at home against the LV Raiders in Jim Harbaugh’s debut for his new team. Harbaugh is an old-school coach who loves to run the ball. While the backfield is crowded with Edwards, J.K. Dobbins, Isaiah Spiller, and rookie Kimani Vidal, I see that the goalline carries could make the difference this first week. Gus Edwards is 6’1, 238 lbs. We think he will find the endzone this weekend.
