Waiver Wire Pickups Week 3

Week 3 Waiver Wire: Adjust or Fall Behind

Week 2 gave us fireworks, flops, and a fresh wave of injuries that reshaped depth charts across the league. If you’re not adjusting, you’re falling behind. This is the week where early trends solidify, and roster decisions start to matter. We saw breakout performances, usage shifts, and a few “I told you so” moments, but now it’s about reacting fast and staying sharp.

The margin for error is shrinking. Injuries are stacking up, depth is being tested, and waiver wire timing is everything. Whether you’re 2-0 or clawing back from 0-2, this is where fantasy seasons start to tilt. Let’s get to work.

Mac Jones

49% Rostered on Sleeper

Mac Jones filled in for Brock Purdy and looked sharp, throwing for 279 yards and three touchdowns in a win over the Saints. He spread the ball around, hit tight windows, and ran Kyle Shanahan’s offense like a vet. The 49ers didn’t skip a beat, and Jones showed he can keep the machine rolling. He’s not flashy, but he’s efficient and surrounded by playmakers. If Purdy misses more time, Jones could potentially become every week streamer. I’m adding him in Superflex and deeper leagues before the schedule softens.

Jake Browning

16 % Rostered on Sleeper

Jake Browning is now the starter in Cincinnati with Burrow sidelined, and while it’s not always pretty, it’s productive. He threw for 241 yards, two touchdowns, and added a rushing score in Week 2, but also tossed three interceptions. He’s not stable, but he’s surrounded by elite weapons, and the Bengals are keeping the offense aggressive. In formats that don’t penalize turnovers, Browning’s volume makes him playable. In Superflex, he’s a must-add. You’re not chasing perfection, you’re chasing points. And Browning can deliver those in bunches.

Bhayshul Tuten

95% Rostered on Sleeper

Tuten turned 8 carries into 42 yards and added 2 catches for 32 yards and a touchdown in Week 2. With Tank Bigsby gone, he’s locked in as the RB2 behind Etienne and is already earning red zone looks. He’s explosive, efficient, and averaging over 6 yards per touch. The Jaguars are using him as a change-of-pace weapon, and his role could grow fast. He’s a premium handcuff with standalone value. If Etienne misses time, Tuten becomes a league-winner.

Dontayvion Wicks

56% Rostered on Sleeper

Wicks stepped up with Jayden Reed sidelined, catching 5 of 7 targets for 61 yards and a touchdown. He was on the field for a significant portion of the offensive snaps, giving Jordan Love a reliable option in key spots. The Packers are throwing more than expected, and Wicks is earning trust. If Reed misses more time, Wicks could be a sneaky WR3 in deeper formats. He’s not just filling in, he’s producing. I’m grabbing him now before the volume sticks and the price goes up.

Cedric Tillman

90% Rostered on Sleeper

Tillman led the Browns in targets again with 8 in Week 2, catching 5 for 52 yards and a touchdown. He scored in back-to-back games and is clearly part of the game plan. Joe Flacco is throwing 40-plus times per game, and Tillman is winning on the boundary and in the red zone. With defenses keying on Horton and Fannin, Tillman is getting favorable matchups and making the most of them. He’s a WR3 with touchdown upside and should be rostered in all formats.

Devontez Walker

23% Rostered on Sleeper

Walker caught both of his targets for 26 yards and two touchdowns in Week 2. That’s three career catches, all for scores. He’s buried on the depth chart, but the Ravens are scheming him into scoring situations. Lamar trusts him in the red zone, and Walker’s speed makes him a threat every time he’s on the field. He’s not a volume play yet, but in deeper leagues, he’s worth a stash. If the usage grows, he’s a weekly boom candidate.

Troy Franklin

77% Rostered on Sleeper

Franklin caught 4 of 6 targets for 44 yards in Week 2, leading the Broncos in receiving. He’s running full route trees, getting slot snaps, and building chemistry with Bo Nix. The volume isn’t elite yet, but the usage is trending up. Sean Payton is dialing up plays to get Franklin in space, and he’s responding with separation and reliability. In deeper PPR formats, he’s a stash with WR3 upside. I’m grabbing him now before the breakout hits.

Shout out to our very own James Bryer who called Franklin as a DFS Sleeper in week 2

Wan’Dale Robinson

86% Rostered on Sleeper

Wan’Dale Robinson just posted a career-best line: 8 catches, 142 yards, and a touchdown on 10 targets in a shootout loss to Dallas. He wasn’t just a slot guy, he stretched the field, created separation, and made plays in space. Russell Wilson fed him in high-leverage spots, including a go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth. Through two weeks, Robinson has 20 targets and looks locked in as the WR2 behind Nabers. He’s not a gadget player anymore. He’s a featured weapon in a pass-heavy offense. In PPR formats, he’s a weekly starter. I’m adding him everywhere before the breakout sticks.
