Updated Super Bowl LII Odds

Super Bowl Odds After Week 2

Everybody hates Mondays except me. As the owner of Gridiron Experts, Monday’s are the one day of the week where I get to relax before we reset the schedule for another NFL week. Tommorrow, a fresh batch of Start’em Sit’em, Daily Fantasy and waiver wire articles are published as fantasy owners adjust to another week of tweaking their lineups and rosters after either a week two win or loss.

While taking the day to relax, chat on twitter and start researching odds for week three, I stumbled upon some early-season Super Bowl betting odds at BestOnlineSportsbooks.info. For those who haven’t checked out The Empire Podcast, I have mentioned that I usually start my week with looking at betting odds. It’s a great way to get a feel for what the sports community thinks of the following week’s games.

Quick Thoughts: Super Bowl Odds

For some reason, I thought these Super Bowl odds disappeared once the NFL season started. I didn’t think they continued to update them all year, however, from what we know after two weeks, I can tell you whoever updated these odds didn’t really stray too far away from the odds that were posted in the summer.

  • I almost didn’t think these odds we’re updated at first glance of the Seahawks at +650. Seattle’s offensive line is struggling to say the least and they have only scored 21 points in two games. However, I think the logic here is that the NFC West looks like cake and that the Hawks should turn things around. I doubt even the biggest Seahawks fan like these odds though.
  • The Raiders are probably a bargain at +1000, but it’s hard to say. It’s just too early. Their schedule hasn’t seemed very difficult to start the season and we won’t know for sure how good this team is until they play the Broncos in Denver week four. I think you could look back on this bet of +1000 in a month and think it was either a bet you should have taken, or inflated and one you’re glad you avoided.
  • Arguably, the Kansas City Chiefs are the best bet on this list. They surprised everyone with a win over the Patriots to kick off the 2017 season and followed it up with a great game against an improved Eagles team where they pulled away in the fourth quarter. Another solid win for the Chiefs and they should be a top contender to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl this year.
  • The Sleeper on this list is the Lions at +3300. I’m writing this an hour before the Monday Night Football game against the Giants but did pick the Lions to win in our weekly NFL pick’em. Win or lose, I think the Lions are a much-improved team and could surprise this season. They are the only team with odds beyond +1500 that I like.
