Thanksgiving Day Games
The Thanksgiving Day games have finally arrived, and we’re excited! The matchups include the Bears @ Lions, the Giants @ Cowboys, and the Dolphins @ Packers. In this article, we’re going to go over players you should start in your DFS lineup. Finally, we would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
Bears @ Lions | Thursday 12:30 pm EST
$6,500 Fanduel
The first player I’m choosing to start in DFS lineups is Keenan Allen. He is benefitting from quarterback Caleb Williams’ talent being unlocked in the Bears offense late into the season. Last week Allen scored 23.6 fantasy points in PPR leagues where he led the Bears receivers. He has a favorable matchup against the Lions defense that allows on average 20.3 fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Allen has shown that he is the alpha receiver when given the opportunity.

Yes, I am choosing another Chicago receiver in rookie Rome Odunze. Odunze has tremendous potential and has had flashes of greatness this season. As I stated with Allen, I like the matchup and believe Chicago will have to pull out all the stops offensively to compete in this game.

Williams has been a deep threat receiver all season and can hit a homerun at any time during a game. He averages 20.8 yards per reception and his longest recorded reception is 70 yards. The Lions are going to get all their offensive weapons included in this game. I expect Williams to record at least 5-7 receptions and have another opportunity to score another home run hitting touchdown in this NFC North matchup.

I understand LaPorta hasn’t had the best sophomore season, but he’s been targeted six times in each matchup in the past two weeks and in another in their win against the Titans in October. I believe he will be targeted another 5-6 times this week, and quarterback Jared Goff is going to make sure that his tight end is going to be able to complete each reception. I also expect LaPorta to receive a few red zone opportunities as well.

Tracy Jr. has taken over the RB1 spot in the New York Giants offense. The running game is going to be a significant part of the offensive game plan against the Cowboys if they want to be able to compete in this game. The Cowboys defense has been notoriously weak against the run this season allowing 20.3 fantasy points on average to opposing running backs. He should accumulate over 50 yards rushing, record a few receptions, and score a touchdown in this favorable matchup.

Johnson has all the potential in the world to be great as we have seen glimpses of it. His 6’6” frame is intimidating to opponents, and he should receive more targets late into the season, especially as they look to play spoiler against their NFC East rivals. Johnson has been targeted six times each game the past three weeks and will probably receive the same amount this week.

I think this is an obvious one here, but I needed to add a staple in DFS lineups this week to build your team around. Lamb should light up the Giants defense this week in a favorable matchup and is a must start in DFS lineups on Thanksgiving Day.

Rush has impressed me so far this season as the Cowboys are hanging on by a thread. He is playing against the New York Giants defense that on average allows 19.3 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Against the Washington Commanders defense he passed for 247 yards on 32 completions and scored 2 touchdowns. I expect an even better game from the veteran quarterback against their NFC East rival this week.
Dolphins @ Packers | Thursday 8:20 pm EST

The Green Bay Packers defense is notoriously bad in defending against the tight end position as they allow 7.1 fantasy points on average. Look at what happened last week, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle scored 20.2 fantasy points in PPR leagues with a backup quarterback. Another factor is that Smith has been a major contributor to the Miami Dolphins offense and that showed last week as he scored 23.7 fantasy points in PPR leagues last week against the New England Patriots defense. There is no doubt in my mind that Smith is going to light it up in this game.

I have no faith in any other cornerback for the Packers except Jaire Alexander who will be manned up on Tyreek Hill. This will allow Waddle to play in slot against nickel corner Keisean Nixon who the Packers absolutely should have left on special teams. Waddle is going to expose Nixon badly this week and has a good possibility of recording over 70 yards receiving and score a touchdown.

Kraft has shown that he is a force to be reckoned with in the Green Bay offense. In their game against the San Francisco 49ers defense, he recorded a touchdown on a tight end screen that Matt LaFleur designed specifically for him. Personally, that speaks volumes in how LaFleur trusts his second-year tight end to make a play when they need one. I expect Kraft to record at least four receptions and possibly score another touchdown this week.

The term next man up applies to Wicks this week as fellow receiver Romeo Doubs will most likely be ruled out due to the concussion he suffered in the back of the end zone last week. Wicks’ opportunities have waned over the season, but this week he is going to prove that he deserves more targets in the offense. He should be one of the last players in your lineup that you pick that could put your team over the edge.
