Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 4

Jerome Ford

Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 4

Week 3 started with Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy’s undefeated streak still intact when the San Francisco 49ers overpowered the Saquon Barkley less New York Giants 30-12 on Thursday night. The Miami Dolphins scored 70 points in their dominant win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon. This set the record for the second most points scored in a regular season game since 1966 when the Washington Redskins defeated the New York Giants 72-41. The highest score in an NFL game was originally set by the Chicago Bears scoring 73 points defeating the Washington Redskins 73-0 in the 1940 NFL Championship Game. We saw Miami’s high-octane offense or should I say “Achane” accumulate more than 700 yards and score 10 touchdowns. Fantasy football top performers of week 3 include De’Von Achane (51.3 PPR), Raheem Mostert (45.2 PPR), Kenneth Walker III (30.6 PPR), Justin Herbert (29.3), Tua Tagovailoa (28.36), Keenan Allen (45.3 PPR), Davante Adams (42.2 PPR), and Sam LaPorta (22.4 PPR).

Here are my recommendations for Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 4.

Startem Sitem

Joe Burrow

Bengals @ Titans | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 41.0 %

Burrow finally got his revenge against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night defeating them 19-16. As the season progresses Burrow is looking to get back to form and with this win on Monday night, he has a chance to achieve that. Fantasy team owners are curious to see how he fares from here on out as he scored only 8.16 fantasy points on Monday night. Fortunately, he faces a much better matchup in week 4 against the Titans defense who allowed Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson to score 21.16 fantasy points this past Sunday. Burrow should be considered a mid-end QB2 in week 4.

Justin Fields

Broncos @ Bears | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 62.5%

I understand that Sunday’s performance against the Kansas City Chiefs defense was horrendous, but don’t give up on Fields just yet. In week 4, he faces a Broncos defense that gave up 70 points and allowed 350 rushing yards to the Miami Dolphins. Fields’ rushing ability is about to be put on full display this week in a great matchup! Fields has a great chance to rebound this week and gain some confidence. Don’t be surprised if he rushes for over 100 yards and scores a rushing touchdown. He should be considered a high-end QB2 at his floor and a low-end QB1 at his ceiling in week 4.

D’Andre Swift

Commanders @ Eagles | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 45.2%

Swift enters a matchup against the Commanders whose run defense is extremely poor. In their week 3 matchup against the Buffalo offense, they allowed James Cook to rush for 98 yards on 15 carries, scoring 13.2 fantasy points. Unfortunately for Cook, quarterback Josh Allen rushed in for a 10-yard touchdown instead. We have already seen Swift light up the Vikings defense earlier this month scoring 27.1 fantasy points in PPR leagues. On Monday night, Swift solidified himself as the workhorse back in the offense scoring 14.8 fantasy points in PPR leagues. As a result, we have the knowledge that the veteran running back has home run hitting value. Swift has a high probability of accumulating significant yardage and scoring double digit numbers in week 4 and should be considered a high-end RB1.

Jerome Ford

Ravens @ Browns | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 44.8%

Even after the Browns re-acquired running back Kareem Hunt, Ford still showed why he should be the lead back on the offense, scoring 19.1 fantasy points in week 3. In the Ravens week 3 matchup against the Colts, running back Zack Moss scored 22.5 fantasy points in PPR leagues. Following a big performance, Ford has the upside to secure mid-end to high-end RB1 numbers against the same defense in week 4.

Adam Thielen

Vikings @ Panthers | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 6.9%

Thielen put on a show for fantasy team owners on Sunday, putting up 31.5 fantasy points in PPR leagues. Months after being released by the Minnesota Vikings, revenge week has finally arrived. A few weeks ago, Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith recorded 4 receptions for 131 yards, secured 1 touchdown, and scored 23.1 fantasy points in PPR leagues. In week 3, the Vikings defense allowed Keenan Allen to score an astronomical 45.46 fantasy points in PPR leagues. He recorded 18 receptions for 215 yards. Thielen could not ask for a better matchup and should be considered a high-end WR1 in this week’s matchup.

D.K. Metcalf

Seahawks @ Giants | 8:15 pm EST Monday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 81.5%

It is nice to see Metcalf return to his superstar form, scoring 17.2 fantasy points in PPR leagues in week 3 against the Panthers. He faces another good matchup against the New York Giants who just allowed receiver Deebo Samuel to score 25.1 fantasy points in PPR leagues. This is another matchup that fantasy owners should exploit and have confidence to start Metcalf as he should be considered a high-end WR1 this week.

Tank Dell

Steelers @ Texans | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 3.9%

We have finally seen the Stroud/Dell connection that was being talked about all offseason hit the field. Dell scored 25.5 fantasy points in PPR leagues in the Texans upset win over the Jaguars in week 3. The Steelers defense allowed Davante Adams to run all over them scoring 42.2 fantasy points in PPR leagues in week 3. Dell should have no issue performing at a high level once again in a great matchup, becoming a mid-end to high-end WR1 in week 4 against the Steeler defense.

Pat Freiermuth

Steelers @ Texans | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 46.3%

On the flipside of that coin, Freiermuth performed well against the Raiders defense scoring 13.3 fantasy points in PPR leagues in week 3. Week 4 against the Texans defense should be no different as Jaguars tight end Evan Engram scored 13.7 fantasy points in PPR leagues against them in week 3. Freiermuth has the potential to once again score double digit numbers and become a high-end TE1 in week 4.

Start Sit

Deshaun Watson

Ravens @ Browns | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 51.0%

I would not be quick to jump on the Watson hype train just yet. Watson is still not performing at a high-level for the type of contract he received just before the 2022 regular season. The Ravens defense is better against the pass only allowing Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew to score 13.08 fantasy points in week 3. My recommendation is to sit Watson another week before considering starting him in your lineup.

Brian Robinson Jr.

Commanders @ Eagles | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 52.7%

Robinson Jr. is a rising star in the league, but unfortunately this week against the Eagles defense he probably won’t look like one. The Eagles defense held Buccaneers running back Rachaad White to less than noticeable fantasy points on Monday night. This will most likely occur to Robinson Jr as well, thus I would recommend making the correct decision and sitting him on your bench.

Chris Godwin

Buccaneers @ Saints | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 58.7%

In week 3, Godwin was held to minimal fantasy points by the Eagles defense. I believe once again that the same result will occur when the Saints go head-to-head against the Buccaneers on Sunday. The Saints are a top 10 passing defense in the league and have allowed less than 15.0 fantasy points to opposing receivers. I am recommending sitting Godwin in this matchup.

Dalton Kincaid

Dolphins @ Bills | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 14.8%

Kincaid still has not solidified a definitive position in the offense yet this season. So far, veteran tight end Dawson Knox is still receiving the majority of targets at the position. Starting Kincaid is not optimal and should not be considered this week.
