Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 15

The fantasy football playoffs are finally here. Congratulations to all the teams who made it and offer comfort to those who did not as there is always next year. First, I would like to remind all the fantasy owners who made it to the playoffs and offer them a piece of advice to “start their studs.” Here are my recommendations for start/sit week 15.

Startem Sitem

Jerick McKinnon

Chiefs @ Texans | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 16.5%

Mahomes and company showed why they are one of the best offenses in the league as they defeated the Denver Broncos this past Sunday 34-28 in a shootout. The Chiefs also put on a huge performance as they sacked Denver’s quarterbacks 6 times, caught 2 interceptions, and scored 1 touchdown, putting up 15.0 fantasy points, and finishing as the 2nd best defense of the week.

Dak Prescott

Cowboys @ Jaguars | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 50.4%

Prescott did not have his best game of the season last week only completing 24/39 passes for 284 yards, throwing 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions. I expect Prescott to rebound from his mediocre performance last week becoming a solid QB1 against the Jaguars defense that on average allows 21.5 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks.

Tony Pollard

Cowboys @ Jaguars | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 80.0%

Pollard has become a reliable RB1 for fantasy owners going into the postseason. Last week in the Cowboys victory over the Texans, he rushed for 42 yards on 10 carries, scored 1 rushing touchdown, and recorded 4 receptions for 20 yards receiving and scored 1 receiving touchdown. I expect Pollard to put on a good performance against the Jaguars defense that on average allows 16.6 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs, and I truly believe Pollard will score more than that as he has become a scoring machine as of late, resulting in putting up RB1 numbers in week 15.

Cam Akers

Rams @ Packers | 8:15 pm EST Monday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 32.9%

Akers finally showed some life in the Rams comeback victory over the Raiders during Thursday night’s match-up where he rushed for 42 yards on 12 carries and scored 1 touchdown. This week, I trust that Akers will perform even better against the Packers defense that on average allows 19.8 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs in a great match-up that will result in him becoming a solid RB1 in week 15.

Mike Williams

Titans @ Chargers | 4:25 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 56.4%

Williams returned to his usual form in Sunday night’s victory over the Dolphins where he caught 6 passes for 116 receiving yards, averaging 19.3 receiving yards per reception, and scored 1 touchdown. Williams is due for another excellent performance against the Titans defense that on average allows 25.7 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers, which ranks the worst in the league, effectively enabling Williams to become a high-end WR1 in week 15.

Chris Olave

Falcons @ Saints | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 16.7%

Olave is the top scoring receiver on the Saints offense and is in line to win offensive rookie of the year recording 60 receptions for 887 receiving yards, averaging 14.8 yards per reception, and scoring 3 touchdowns this season. Against the Falcons defense that on average allows 22.7 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers, I expect Olave to become a solid WR1 in week 15.

Tyler Conklin

Lions @ Jets | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 22.3%

First, I would like to state that there is no current news at the moment whether starting quarterback Mike White is playing in Sunday’s game after suffering a ribs injury on a vicious hit by Bills linebacker Matt Milano. If White plays Sunday, I recommend starting Conklin as he faces the Lions defense that on average allows 8.3 fantasy points to opposing tight ends, potentially becoming a solid TE2 in week 15.

Hayden Hurst

Bengals @ Buccaneers | 4:25 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 8.0%

Hurst has been consistently targeted by quarterback Joe Burrow and is used quite often in the red zone. Against the Buccaneers defense that on average allows 7.7 fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends, I expect Hurst to perform as a solid TE2 in week 15.

Start Sit

Caution: My least favorite match-up of the week: Dolphins @ Bills | 8:15 pm EST Saturday

According to stadiumforecast.com, it is going to be 26 degrees Fahrenheit in Buffalo and there is an 80% chance of snow showers that could result in 2-4 inches accumulating during the game Saturday night. I recommend keeping an eye out for any changes to the weather forecast on Saturday that may skew the way the game is played.

Tom Brady

Bengals @ Buccaneers | 4:25 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 40.5%

Brady did not perform well in the Buccaneers loss to the 49ers this past Sunday completing 34/55 passes for 253 yards, throwing 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions. Unfortunately, I do not see things getting better for the veteran quarterback against the Bengals defense that on average allows 14.6 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks.

Travis Etienne Jr.

Cowboys @ Jaguars | 1:00 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 76.1%

During week 14, fantasy owners who have shares in Etienne were absolutely horrified by his performance. Etienne only rushed for 32 yards on 17 carries, becoming a complete dud. Against the Cowboys defense that on average allows 13.5 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs, I recommend sitting Etienne in week 15.

DeAndre Hopkins

Cardinals @ Broncos | 4:05 pm EST Sunday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 71.9%

During Monday night’s match-up against the Patriots, numerous players were injured including starting quarterback Kyler Murray who suffered a torn ACL three plays into the game. Back-up quarterback Colt McCoy who replaced Murray was ineffective. Against the Broncos defense that on average allows 13.7 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers, my recommendation is to sit Hopkins in week 15.

Mark Andrews

Ravens @ Browns | 4:30 pm EST Saturday

ESPN Starting Percentage: 95.3%

With starting quarterback Lamar Jackson questionable to play in Sunday’s match-up, I would avoid starting Andrews as back-up quarterbacks Huntley and Brown are not reliable in passing the ball against the Browns defense that on average allows 4.9 fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends.
