NFL Week 15 Recap: Chris Godwin Torn ACL

Week 15 Recap

It was a wild weekend that saw many surprises around the NFL in week 15. The Patriots, Cardinals, Titans, and Bucs all lost shocking many sports bettors and fantasy managers.

The Detriot Lions upset the Arizona Cardinals 30-12, in what might be considered the biggest upset of the season. The Lions came into the game with just one win and were 13.5 point underdogs. Lions fans haven’t had much to cheer about this season but were treated to a convincing win at home just before the holidays. The Lions have now won their last two home games, and despite a terrible season have shown some fight in the month of December. It’ll be interesting to see if it’s enough to save Head Coach Dan Campbell’s job heading into next season.

Tankathon 2022 NFL Draft Order 3

The Lions win along with a win from the Texans has shaken up the NFL draft order for next April. Currently, as it stands, the Jacksonville Jaguars hold the first overall pick in next year’s NFL Draft. If the Jag’s do hold the top spot, they would be the worst team in the NFL for back-to-back seasons. Luckily, the Jag’s having gotten their franchise QB with the first pick in the 2021 draft, can look to repair their defensive line. Currently, many Mock Drafts have they DE Aidan Hutchinson or DE Kayvon Thibodeaux going first overall.

The New England Patriots lost to the Colts 27-17 in what appeared to be a close game on the scoreboard, but that was mainly from some late garbage time in the 4th quarter. Many had pegged QB Mac Jones as the offensive rookie of the year, and some have thought the Patriots are the team to beat in the AFC, but after this performance, I’m not so sure. The Colts control this game from the opening kick-off.

The Green Back Packers were one play away from being added to the upset list this past Sunday. The Baltimore Ravens with a ton of replacement players in the game due to injury and Coivd protocol score two touchdowns in 4:14, but decided to go for the win at try for the two-point conversion. They came up allowing the Packers to sneak out a victory. Betway Insider Research Data now shows the Packers as a heavy favorite in the NFC to make the Super Bowl with the comfortable one-game lead over the Bucs and Cardinals and a light schedule in their final 3 games.

Chris Godwin Suffers Torn ACL, Out For The Season

Fantasy News: Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin suffered a torn ACL in Sunday’s dreadful night’s loss to the Saints. The injury did not appear to be that serious at first glance, but further testing showed the ACL tear. Tom Brady looked lost without his top targets last week and there is a good chance he will be shorthanded next week also. However, Antonio Brown will help the cause with Godwin now out of the picture. Brown saw 32 targets from Week 4 to Week 6, so he could immediately enter the WR2 discussion in Week 16 when the Bucs travel to Carolina. Tyler Johnson was able to catch four passes for 41 yards on seven targets after Godwin and Mike Evans (hamstring) exited the game in Week 15, so the sophomore figures to see an uptick in fantasy value with his role almost certainly to be increased.
