NFL Team Win Totals 2025

NFL Team Win Totals

One of my favorite bets in the entire NFL season isn’t who wins the Super Bowl or which team covers the spread on any given Sunday. It’s betting on the over/under team win totals before the season starts. There’s something about evaluating a team across 17 games that feels more controlled and predictable than the chaos of single-game betting. It’s where preparation, research, and understanding roster construction actually give you an edge. This also gives you two to three new teams to cheer for throughout the season.

With over/under win totals, you’re not just guessing if a team can beat the spread in a challenging divisional game. You’re zooming out and asking, does this team have the depth, the coaching, and the schedule to win nine games? Can they stay healthy enough to win double digits? Is this team truly tanking, or are the books undervaluing them because of last year’s injuries? It turns every season snap into a storyline tied to one long-term narrative you’ve invested in. And unlike a single bet busted by a tipped pick-six or a fluke special-teams play, win totals play out over the entire year. It rewards patience, foresight, and a good read on offseason trends.

The lines are usually posted in the spring or summer, and that’s where the value is. Oddsmakers have to assign a number before the full picture is clear. Before training camp, before cuts, before anyone knows how rookies will fit or if that free agent is still explosive. If you’re paying attention during the offseason and have a good handle on which teams are trending up or down, you can catch win totals that are off by a full game or more. That’s a massive edge in sports betting, where half-points matter. If you’re interested in betting on these odds or some best online casinos, research which site is available in your area and take advantage of any first-time sign-up offer.

I also like that you can fade the public. A lot of casual bettors will hammer the over on the teams that made noise last season. But teams regress. Coordinators leave. Injuries pile up. There’s always that one or two darling teams that everyone’s hot on, but when you dig into the schedule and the quarterback play, the under makes way more sense. And those bets tend to hit quietly, without the wild swings of a game-day parlay. You don’t need a miracle. You just need reality to play out.

There’s a real satisfaction in following a team all season and knowing you read the situation right. Maybe it’s a team with a bad offensive line and a tough road schedule that stumbles out of the gate and never finds rhythm. Or a young team that nobody believed in, but the quarterback takes a leap, and they fly over their number by Week 14. These are long-term plays that reflect football knowledge, not just luck. They’re one of the few ways you can feel like a smart, steady investor in a betting market built to feed off impulse.

Early Favorite NFL Win Best Bets

Broncos

Over 9.5 Wins (+100)

Denver has a good shot to open the season strong with two favorable matchups (Titans & Colts) and a closing stretch that features three of their last four games at home. Denver will have to travel well in 2025, with an interesting road schedule that includes back-to-back games against the Jets and Giants in London. However, despite the challenge of not taking a bye after the international trip, I believe both are winnable, and the Broncos’ defense gives them a clear edge. Ten wins as the floor for this team is doable, but I think 11 is a realistic mark that would secure a playoff berth. If Bo Nix progresses and the defense stays elite, Denver could push even further, despite the brutal competition in the AFC West.

Packers

Over 9.5 Wins (-105)

I’m surprised by these odds. I think the Packers can build on their 2024 season and have added a few key pieces to improve their roster. I love the first-round selection of wide receiver Matthew Golden. He brings speed (4.29 40-yard dash) and depth to a wide receiver room full of question marks. With Christian Watson’s injury history and Romeo Doubs in a contract year following multiple concussions, Golden brings much-needed insurance. In the second round, the team selected OL Anthony Belton who is penciled in to start at LG. At 6’6, 335 lbs, Belton helps pass and run game. He was a three-year starter at NC State and lined up at left tackle in former offensive coordinator Robert Anae’s zone-blocking scheme. The Packers ranked 7th in rushing defensive last season and were middle of the pack at stopping the pass.

The Packers won 11 games last year, and I don’t think they took a step back.

Raiders

Over 7.5 Wins (+125)

This is a Gridiron favorite offseason bet. With changes in the coaching staff and quarterback room and the addition of one of the best college running backs in years, there are so many positives for this team that 8 wins seem possible even if they start slow out of the gate.
