NFL Fanduel Week 17: Best Buys and Advice

FanDuel Week 17 Picks

FanDuel Week 17 PicksDuring the final week of the NFL regular season, Fanduel and other daily fantasy sites will likely see an increase in traffic. Traffic to a website can be compared in fantasy football terms as targets to a wide receiver. The more traffic a topic creates, the better chance someone clicks on your article.

Not only is this the final week of the season, but it’s also very different than all the others. All 16 games are on Sunday with no games on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday Night. The competition will be high, so it’s important to find players not highly owned.

Remember fantasy football is meant to be fun so please play responsibly. If one of my picks helps you win big, please share the love with me by giving me a shout out on Twitter @MitchellRenz365!

The following are my Fanduel Week 17 picks. It’s important to remember the suggested Fanduel players below have been selected because they are, in my opinion, “the best bang for your buck” to build a lineup with.

Matt Ryan vs CAR

FanDuel QB Price: $7,400

Matt RyanEntering the season Matt Ryan was one of my busts because I knew his numbers would come down from his historic 2016 season. I never expected him to go from 38 touchdowns to 19 and since he has been a disappointment this season, why would I recommend him? Be different and play a quarterback at home in a must-win game. There are 15 quarterbacks priced higher than him on Fanduel and with positions like tight end, kicker and defense more expensive this week, it opens up extra money for skill positions. Ryan has scored more than 19 Fanduel points only one time this entire season, it was on the road in Carolina. Go cheap at quarterback and then stack the rest of your lineup this week to win big.

Running Back

Christian McCaffrey @ATL

FanDuel RB Price: $6,900

A common theme you will see throughout this article is the players are all in meaningful games this week. Another common theme you will see on Sunday is McCaffrey catching the ball frequently because the Falcons have allowed the most receptions to the running back position this season with 101. On the season, McCaffrey is tied for the second most receptions among running backs with 75. In his last matchup against Atlanta, he scored 17.9 Fanduel points and I expect him to be around that number again this week.

Latavius Murray vs. CHI

FanDuel RB Price: $6,600

When the Vikings are home, you start Murray with confidence because over his last three home games he has 53 carries, 284 yards, and four touchdowns. The Vikings defense is much better at home not allowing a single team to score over 20 points, which has converted to better fantasy games for Murray due to the game scripts. The Vikings need to win to clinch the second overall seed in the NFC playoffs and they will do it on the back of Murray.

Doug Baldwin vs. ARI

FanDuel WR Price: $7,100

Doug BaldwinThe Seahawks offense was disappointing the last two weeks, but Seattle still has a chance to make the playoffs if they win and the Falcons lose. In Week 10, Baldwin had a solid game against Arizona racking up 95 yards on five catches. This week the Cardinals will not have safety Antoine Bethea which is a huge blow to the Cardinals secondary that is already banged up. Despite the Seahawks recent struggles, Baldwin has scored double-digit Fanduel points in three of the last four weeks and is due for a monster game, which will come in Week 17.

Mike Evans vs. NO

FanDuel WR Price: $6,900

Seeing the name Mike Evans at this price is still jaw-dropping to me, but it amplifies the season the Buccaneers are experiencing. The Buccaneers have dealt with a few injuries the last few weeks on offense which has resulted in a higher target share for Evans. Over the last two weeks, Evans has 11 catches on 16 targets for 186 yards and one touchdown. Tampa Bay played the Panthers tough last week and will play the Saints tough this week simply because of NFC South pride. Evans will look for revenge against the Saints who held him to just one catch for 13 yards earlier this season.

Antonio Gates vs. OAK

FanDuel TE Price: $5,700

Gates had his best game of the season against the Jets bringing in six of his eight targets for 81 yards and one touchdown. Fellow tight end Hunter Henry is out for the season and quarterback Philip Rivers went to Gates often and in the red zone. The Raiders have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends this season and with Gates being the 14th priced tight end this week, I think that’s a steal.

Adam Vinatieri vs. HOU

FanDuel Kicker Price: $4,600

The Texans have allowed the second most points to kickers this season, surrendering on average 10.6 points per game. If Vinatieri can hit the 10 point mark that is more than double the investment, which is great value on Fanduel. This game is inside a dome and even though it doesn’t mean anything, inner division games mean a lot to the teams, so expect a feisty game that turns into a field goal battle.

Ravens vs. CIN

FanDuel Defense Price: $5,200

If the Ravens beat the Bengals on Sunday, they make the playoffs. A determined Baltimore defense against a Bengals team that has nothing to play for is a recipe for success. Also, how many people remember the last time the Ravens played the Bengals? All the way back to week one where the Ravens forced four interceptions, one fumble and had five sacks. The Ravens will be the highest scoring defense in Week 17.
