FanDuel Week 16 Picks
Fanduel and other daily fantasy sites, usually see an increase in traffic during this part of the NFL season. Many Fantasy Football fanatics have been eliminated but still, want to have something to cheer for. Remember to play responsibly, and have fun in the process. If one of my picks helps you win big, please share the love with me by giving me a shout out on Twitter @MitchellRenz365!
The following are my Fanduel Week 16 picks. It’s important to remember the suggested Fanduel players below have been selected because they are, in my opinion, “the best bang for your buck” to build a lineup with.
Jared Goff @TEN
FanDuel QB Price: $7,700
The Titans are the most overrated team in the NFL right now and it showed last week when they were an underdog to a 3-10 49er team. Not only are the Titans as a team overrated, but the amount of fantasy points they allow to quarterbacks is misleading as they are ranked the 17th best defense against the quarterback position. However, when they have played good quarterbacks (Derek Carr, Russell Wilson, DeShaun Watson, Ben Roethlisberger, and Jimmy Garoppolo) they have allowed an average of 26.8 fantasy points a game. Goff has been solid this season and will be a great option in Week 16.
Running Back
Devonta Freeman @NO
FanDuel RB Price: $7,000
When the prices for Fanduel first came out, Freeman and the Falcons didn’t play yet on Monday Night Football. This is why there are 12 running backs more expensive than him. Freeman is coming off a game where he had 194 total yards from scrimmage and I can promise you he wouldn’t be this cheap if the prices for players came out after Monday Night Football. The Saints have allowed a rushing touchdown in three straight games and since Freeman is getting the lion share of the work with backup running back Tevin Coleman out, he will be a great bargain play this week.
Mike Gillislee vs. BUF
FanDuel RB Price: $4,500
If you enjoy taking risks such as cliff diving, bungee jumping or starting Patriot running backs then you’ll love going with Gillislee this week because he hasn’t played since October 29th. Rex Burkhead replaced Gillislee for the Patriots, but due to Burkhead’s injury, Gillislee will be reactivated. The Patriots are going against the Bills who have allowed the most rushing touchdowns to running backs this season which is why I am betting on a touchdown this week for Gillislee. If the Patriots can get out to a big lead, they may rest Dion Lewis and James White, allowing Gillislee to kill the clock and score a late touchdown.
Dez Bryant vs. SEA
FanDuel WR Price: $7,100
Fantasy owners will stay clear of starting players against the Seahawks because of the reputation they have for being a lockdown defense. This Seattle defense is banged up and over the last five weeks, they have surrendered six receiving touchdowns to wide receivers. If I could bet on one receiver on the Cowboys to score a touchdown this week, it would be Bryant. Fantasy owners will play Ezekiel Elliott since Rams running back Todd Gurley just scored four touchdowns against the Seahawks thus forgetting about Dez.
Robert Woods @ TEN
FanDuel WR Price: $6,600
Woods missed about a month of the season with an injury and many fantasy owners forgot how reliable of an option he was, leading the Rams in receptions and receiving yards. After missing nearly a month he bounced back nicely with six receptions, 45 yards, and one touchdown against the Seahawks. If you look at his last four games, the stats are eye-popping to see he has 33 targets, 26 receptions, 367 yards, and five touchdowns. He hasn’t been that dominant the entire season, but he has been reliable. Since Week 3, he has recorded at least five receptions in seven of nine games. With his upside in a favorable matchup, I think he is a slam dunk play at wide receiver this week.
Travis Kelce vs. MIA
FanDuel TE Price: $7,000
The top-scoring tight end in fantasy football (Travis Kelce) is $1,400 less than Rob Gronkowski and $300 less than Zach Ertz. That alone makes him a bargain this week. The Dolphins this season have allowed the fifth most points to the tight end position and he is in a great position at home to exceed his current price.
Phil Dawson vs. NYG
FanDuel Kicker Price: $4,600
Believe it or not, but Phil Dawson has made 14 field goals over the last four weeks of the season. That’s an average of 12.5 fantasy points per game. This week he plays at home, in a dome, against a bad defense. I have been preaching since Week 1 of the season when I can find those three things plus a kicker that is a cheap option, it’s a great pick.
Chiefs vs. MIA
FanDuel Defense Price: $4,500
The Chiefs defense has been good this season at home allowing only 17 points per game, which is much better than allowing 25 points per game on the road. In their seven games at home, they have forced 10 interceptions, recorded 17 sacks, recovered six fumbles and have two touchdowns. This week the Miami Dolphins come into Kansas City and they have given up 26 turnovers this season which is the third most in the NFL. A team that turns the ball over a ton against the Chiefs in Kansas City, is a recipe for a defensive touchdown.
