Monday Night Football is a Christmas cracker in Week 16. The NFC East-leading Philadelphia Eagles host the Oakland Raiders on Christmas night. The Eagles can clinch a first home field advantage throughout the playoffs with a win. This will be the 13th regular season meeting between these two sides. Both teams have won six games, although the Raiders also beat the Eagles in Super Bowl XV. The Eagles have won the last three meetings. They last met in Week 9 of the 2013 season. Nick Foles tied an NFL record by throwing seven touchdowns, including three to Riley Cooper. Foles finished with 406 yards from his 22 completions in a 49-20 Eagles victory.
With Carson Wentz lost for the season, Foles has returned to the starting lineup for the Eagles. Foles has thrown for 335 yards and four touchdowns this season, with all four coming last week against the Giants. This marked the second time in his Eagles career that Foles has thrown for at least four touchdowns and zero interceptions. The previous time was against the Raiders in 2013.
Derek Carr, with 3113 passing yards, is the only Raiders quarterback ever to pass for at least 3000 yards in his first four seasons with the team. He has 20 touchdowns and ten interceptions. He has a 14-3 touchdown to interception ratio in his last seven games against NFC teams.
The Eagles leading rusher this season is LeGarrette Blount with 717 yards and two touchdowns. Blount also has six receptions for 36 yards and a further touchdown. He has averaged 96.5 yards per game in his last two against AFC opponents. Jay Ajayi has 356 rushing yards and a touchdown, as well as 8 catches for 70. Rookie Corey Clement has a team-high four rushing touchdowns, as well as 307 rushing yards. He has another two touchdowns on his nine receptions. Kenjon Barner is primarily a special teams player but has 15 rush attempts this season. He has 59 yards and a touchdown.
Marshawn Lynch has an enviable track record against the Eagles. He averages 129.3 yards from scrimmage in three games against them. Those games have brought him three touchdowns. This season, Lynch has 695 yards on the ground with seven scores. His 16 receptions have been good for 136 yards. DeAndre Washington has the second most attempts behind Lynch, with 54. But he has just 153 yards at 2.8 per attempt with two touchdowns. He also has 31 receptions for 195 yards and a score. Jalen Richard has 52 attempts, which have brought him 233 yards and a touchdown. He has 24 catches for 236 yards and another score.
Alshon Jeffery leads the Eagles with 781 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. His 56 receptions are second on the team. He has scored at least one touchdown in six of his last seven games. Jeffery has a touchdown in his last three home games. Nelson Agholor has enjoyed a banner year in 2017. His 55 catches, 722 yards and eight touchdowns are all career highs. He has 22 receptions in his last three games for 264 yards and two scores. Torrey Smith has 35 receptions for 425 yards and two touchdowns. Rookie Mack Hollins has reeled in 13 of 17 targets for 201 yards and touchdown. His 15.5 yards per reception lead the team.
Michael Crabtree has the Raiders lead in catches and touchdowns with 56 and eight. He has the second most receiving yards with 601. Two of the touchdowns came last week. Amari Cooper has had an injury-ravaged season in 2017. He has 42 receptions for 499 yards, with five touchdowns. 210 of those yards came in a single game. Seth Roberts has 384 yards and touchdown on 35 catches. Johnny Holton has only nine receptions, but they have come at an average of 24.2 yards. He has 218 yards and three touchdowns. Cordarrelle Patterson has been something of a gadget player. He has 29 receptions for 298 yards, but also 13 rush attempts for 121 yards and two touchdowns.
Zach Ertz has a team-high 63 catches, with 719 yards and eight touchdowns. He has scored a touchdown in his last six home games. Trey Burton has emerged as the second tight end on the Eagles offense this season. He has 22 receptions for 239 yards, with five touchdowns. Brent Celek only has nine receptions this season, for 105 yards and a score.
Jared Cook leads the Raiders with 638 receiving yards from 50 catches, with two touchdowns. He has more than two catches in just one of his last five games, however. Backup tight ends Clive Walford and Lee Smith have combined for 15 receptions for 140 scoreless yards in 2017.
