Kyren Williams Fantasy 2025
I’ll be the first person to admit that I thought the 5’9, 200 lbs frame of Kyren Williams would preclude him from being a bellcow, every-down RB in the NFL, at least for a long period of time. I would have figured that overuse, injuries, or both would keep him from achieving that distinction. While the jury may still be out, Williams spent last season silencing his doubters.
In 2024, Kyren Williams was a highly productive fantasy asset. Through 16 games, some highlights include:
- 14 rushing TDs
- a league high 19 rush attempts inside the 5-yard line
- 82.6 percent of Rams touches inside the 5
- led all players in red zone rush attempts with 65
When looking at the percentages of where his fantasy production came from, we find:
- 47.7% of fantasy points came from rush yards
- 30.9% from rushing TDs
- 19.2% from receptions and receiving yards
- 4.4% from receiving TDs.
Kyren was an elite RB in 2024.
Offensive Line Upgrades
I personally love that we are taking the time at Gridiron Experts to acknowledge the changes teams make with their offensive lines as I feel that’s an often ignored group of people who are going to have a say in our players’ fantasy output. The Rams had a couple hiccups in 2024 with their offensive front. The biggest was with LG Jonah Jackson who went down fairly early in the season. He is gone to the Bears for 2025 (more on that later) and has been replaced by moving former C Steve Avila to LG and then the Rams drafted a new C in 6th rounder Beaux Limmer and signed C Coleman Shelton as a depth piece. Their starting five is mostly in tact, and as long as they stay healthy, they will be quite helpful for Kyren Williams.
What Are the Odds?
Bet MGM has the Rams as -180 to make the playoffs, +180 to win the division, +900 to win the conference, and +2000 to win the Super Bowl. I kind of like all of those options in what is likely one of Matt Stafford’s last kicks at the can. Additionally, without getting too into the weeds, I think Davante Adams is a better asset than Cooper Kupp at this stage of their respective careers, and this move affords the opportunity for Puka Nacua to see more snaps and routes from his natural slot position. In other words, their offense, provided everyone is healthy, should be more efficient in 2025.
When it comes to Kyren, I like him over 10.5 or 11.5 rushing TDs. I’m also seeing him as +2500 for the most rushing yards in the league, which I don’t hate.
Fantasy Impact
The Los Angeles Rams have a deep RB room, and they have had one for some time. Despite that, Kyren Williams has emerged as the bellcow back in this offense. It shouldn’t be too surprising when we consider guys like Todd Gurley have emerged before as well. Much of the fantasy industry worried about Blake Corum in the weeks leading up to the 2024 season, but he was not much of a factor. Kyren Williams was 2nd to only Saquon Barkley in total touches among all NFL RBs in 2024, and the only RBs with more fantasy points per game than Williams over the last 2 years are the aforementioned Barkley and Jahmyr Gibbs.
Kyren Williams currently has an ADP of 25th overall, RB11. While this will likely change throughout the summer, it is currently too low. If I’m getting Kyren in the early 3rd round, then I am stoked. While I am still weary of a player like Kyren breaking down with this kind of workload, the price is too good for an RB in this situation who is still only 24 years old. If you’re playing in a PPR scenario, there are probably slightly better options at this ADP considering that only 23% of his fantasy production came through the air. Other RBs like De’Von Achane, Josh Jacobs, Chase Brown, James Conner, Aaron Jones, and Bucky Irving come into the conversation at that point. But for the standard or .5 PPR players out there, swing away at this price point for Kyren Williams in 2025.
