Jets WR Robby Anderson Arrested Again

Jets Wide Receiver, Robby Anderson was arrested Friday morning in Sunrise, Florida. Based on the police report by the Broward County Sheriff’s office, Anderson has been charged with resisting arrest, harming a public servant, fleeing/eluding arrest, reckless driving , failure to drive in a single lane, disobeying red lights, speeding clocked at 105 mph in a 45 mph zone, turning when unsafe, and made threats to the officer that he would sexually assault his wife.

This will be Anderson’s 2nd run in with the law after being charged last May for resisting arrest with violence at a concert in Miami. The trial for that incident is set to begin in March. The undrafted Wideout is off to a promising start on the field to begin his career but is struggling to avoid the off-season troubles that seem to plague many NFL players.

It will be interesting to see if Robby is punished under the NFL’s personal conduct policy as this will be his second offense in less than a year. According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, a team spokesman for the Jets released a statement that said, “We are aware of the situation this is a pending legal matter and we will have no further comment.” Despite all of his problems off the field, it would be mildly surprising if Anderson was not in the team’s future plans.

Anderson is coming off a career-best season in 2017 after taking over the teams #1 WR duties. He finished the year with 63 receptions, 941 yards, and 7 TD catches. (Pro-football-reference.com) Robby is a talented young receiver and has a bright career ahead of him if he can stay out of trouble. Time will tell if the 24-year-old can focus all of his energy on football and work passed his personal issues.
