Jadarian Price Seeing Heavy Workload in Seahawks Camp
Seattle Seahawks rookie running back Jadarian Price is drawing plenty of attention early in training camp, with head coach Mike Macdonald indicating plans to use him extensively across the offense, not just as a runner.
“We’re going to run wide zone, and he’s going to run wide zone,” Macdonald said, via Seahawks.com. “We’re going to run some gap scheme. He’s going to run some of that too, and then the pass game, he can come alive too.”
The 32nd overall pick in the 2026 draft, Price enters a backfield with real opportunity. Seattle lost star running back Kenneth Walker III to the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency, and the status of veteran Zach Charbonnet for the start of the regular season remains uncertain as he continues working back from the torn ACL he suffered in the divisional round of the playoffs, with some reports suggesting he may not be back until October. Seattle also signed former Green Bay Packers backup Emanuel Wilson in free agency to add depth.
The path to a featured role isn’t entirely clear-cut, though. Earlier in the offseason program, George Holani was reportedly getting first crack at reps with Seattle’s top offense during open practices, with Price and Wilson working in behind him. More recent reporting suggests that order is shifting as camp progresses, with several analysts now expecting Price to be firmly established as the starter before the preseason ends.
Price arrives without a great deal of college workload to lean on, having shared Notre Dame’s backfield for much of his career, but he was efficient when given the ball, rushing for 674 yards and 11 touchdowns on just 113 carries in his final season, a 6.0 yards-per-carry average. That efficiency, paired with the clear opportunity in front of him, has made him one of the more talked-about rookies in fantasy circles this summer.
Price currently sits firmly in the RB2 tier of most composite rankings, with a redraft ADP inside the top 30 running backs. Given the crowded but favorable backfield picture in Seattle, he profiles as one of the more interesting value plays at the position heading into the season.
