Eric Decker Fantasy 2017
The Tennessee Titans have signed WR Eric Decker, formerly of the New York Jets, to a one-year contract.
The 6-foot-3, 214-pound veteran wide receiver visited the Titans on Wednesday, met with coach Mike Mularkey and took a physical. He was released this month by the Jets after three seasons with the team. Decker, started his career in Denver, where he had three 1,000-yard seasons with twelve 100-yard games in his seven-year NFL career in a four year span. Decker has 33 touchdowns in the red zone since 2012, second in the NFL only to Brandon Marshall (35) in that span. He also ranks 18th in the NFL with 43 touchdown receptions and 4,535 yards receiving since 2012.
Twitter Thoughts:
Biggest loser of the Eric Decker signing: Rishard Matthews. Titans ran the fewest 3-wide sets last year https://t.co/WmopMBzJCM

#Titans were top 10 in 2-TE set % last year but lost stud blocking TE Fasano, way stronger at WR now. Should be more of a 3-WR team in 2017.

Mariota should throw 30+ TDs this season if he gets the same boost from playing with Decker as past QBs https://t.co/lGlAIQPqJ6 pic.twitter.com/gHPUDweTJz

And there is legit data-backed argument to be made for #Titans OL as best in league entering '17. Been a 🔥 start for 2nd-yr GM Jon Robinson.

Fantasy Impact
Eric Decker’s average draft position in PPR league formats dropped two full rounds since May. I’m expecting Decker’s stock value to pull out of this noise dive in classic Top Gun movie fashion as he ditches the Jets for a baby blue jersey in Tennessee. While the Titans have better receiving corps in comparison to the Jets, and one could argue that Decker may have seen more targets remaining with the Jets in 2017, there is not doubt that the quality of targets will improve with the upgrade at Quarterback.
Another interesting stat provided by Jacob Rickrode (Tweet), is that Eric Decker was a top 15 Wide Receiver in PPR three of the past 5 years. Dynasty owners who bought low over the last month are going to be thrilled by his landing spot. I’m expecting Decker’s ADP climbs as high as the middle of the 7th round by the start of NFL Pre-season.

Gridiron Experts will be updating their Fantasy Rankings this weekend, check back to see where we rank Decker along with other players on the Titans.
James is a diehard fantasy football fan who has been playing for over 20 years. He doesn’t have a favorite team, mainly from moving around a lot when he was a kid. This has to lead to many fantasy championships as James drafts with his head, not with his heart. James also plays heavily in Dynasty Football and loves DFS and Picking games. He’s excited to see where he can go writing for Gridiron Experts
