Fantasy Football Sleeper Picks Week 7
It is Week 7 and that means for most fantasy leagues we are halfway to the playoffs. You are either looking to make that comeback or flexing because you have somehow miraculously bobbed and weaved your way around injuries, volatile performances, and the bye weeks.
So, let’s keep it going, this week two teams are on their bye week, the Chicago Bears and the Dallas Cowboys. Three pivotal players have changed teams, Davante Adams is now a New York Jet, Amari Cooper is with the Buffalo Bills, and Cam Akers is a Viking of the Minnesota variety.
The sleeper picks are looking more and more like must-haves. Here are the sleeper picks for this week.
Quarterback, New England Patriots
First things first, Maye reportedly had an MRI on his knee after practice Wednesday, so monitor the situation. This is an early game to be played in Wembley Stadium in England. The line currently sits with the Patriots’ opponents, the Jacksonville Jaguars sitting at six-point favorite and the total at 41.5.
Let’s talk about the Patriots and, more importantly, their offensive line, which is pretty offensive. This week, they will start their seventh offensive line combination as left tackle Vederian Lowe has been ruled out. The Patriots’ offensive line rankings oscillate between 30 and 32, depending on who you believe. Either way, they are not good. Last week, they allowed Maye to be sacked four times.
Maye for his first start as an NFL quarterback against a DeMeco Ryans defense wasn’t all bad, Maye finished with 243 passing yards and three touchdowns on 33 passing attempts, completing 20. He also rushed five times for 38 yards and had one fumble and two interceptions.
This week Maye will play against a less formidable defense as the Jaguars rank near the bottom in most statistical categories. They allow the most passing yards per game (276.7), have given up the most passing touchdowns (14), and have allowed the fourth-highest completion percentage to opposing quarterbacks (70.8%). And for our fantasy purposes the Jaguars have allowed the most fantasy points to quarterbacks (28.0), most recently last week they helped make rookie Caleb Williams QB1 with 29.6 fantasy points.
It is a fact that the most difficulty Maye will face this week isn’t his opponent but overcoming the inadequacies of his offensive line.

Running Back, Atlanta Falcons
It’s a cheat code to label Allgeier a sleeper, BB (Before Bijan), Allgeier’s 2022 season included 1035 rushing yards, 139 receiving yards, and four touchdowns. Then Bijan Robinson was drafted and Allgeier’s monster season was a distant memory. If it wasn’t for the ineptness of then-head coach Arthur Smith’s utilization of his players, Allgeier’s fantasy ADP (84th overall) this season would have garnered more respect. But that was then.
This season, it is becoming clear that the Falcons feel comfortable with two running back studs. Allgeier has a 29.8% snap share, 41.6 weighted opportunities, 5.4 yards per carry, 19 evaded tackles, and the seventh-highest explosive run rate at 115.
Last week in their win against the Carolina Panthers, Allgeier was on the field for a 41.43% snap share compared to Robinson’s 55.71%. Allgeier collected 105 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, while Robinson collected 95 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.
This week the Falcons host the Seattle Seahawks who last week allowed San Francisco’s RB3 to average 9.9 rushing yards when he entered in relief of the injured Jordan Mason. The week prior the Seahawks allowed the New York Giants rookie Tyrone Tracy who played because their RB1 Devin Singletary was injured to rush for 129 yards on 18 carries.
Both Allgeier and Robinson should get theirs.

Wide Receiver, Carolina Panthers
Coker’s time on the field has gradually increased, culminating in last week’s matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, where he had a 62.1 % snap share and a 73.7% route participation rate. While he is firmly behind Diontae Johnson and rookie Xavier Legette, he has distanced himself from Jonathan Mingo.
Mingo’s snaps have decreased with him on the field for 48.5% of the offensive snaps last week with his route participation dropping from 76.9% (Week 5) to 42.1% (Week 6). Mingo had one target with one reception for one yard.
The Panthers are ninth in pass percentage (60.9%) and eighth in pass attempts per game (34.7), as long as Andy Dalton is under center WR3 should hold some value.
Tight End, New England Patriots
To be honest almost went with the Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith here, but for the historical under-utilization Mike McDaniels has with tight ends. But just keep Smith in mind.
Now back to Henry, Henry was a favorite of mine early on when Jacoby Brissett was under center for the Patriots, such a distant memory…but the tendencies of the offensive coordinator still stand.
Henry is currently TE12 in fantasy points. He is ninth in routes run averaging 25.2 per game, seventh in route participation (85.8%), and 12th in yards after catch (99).
In Maye’s debut last week, Henry was second on the team in targets (5), tied for second in receptions (3), and third on the team in receiving yards (41) he also managed to be on the receiving end of one of Maye’s three touchdown passes.
The current state of the Jaguars’ defense has already been noted. Henry is that tight-end option you didn’t know you needed, but you do.
