Eagles 2022 Team Win Odds

The Philadelphia Eagles are in a rebuild mode, but sportsbooks aren’t sold on their current roster for the 2022 season.

2021 Recap

First-year head coach Nick Sirianni and first-year starting Quarterback Jalen Hurts took a young Eagles team to the postseason unexpectedly with a 9-8 record last season. With a soft 2021 schedule, it’s not a stretch to say the Birds overachieved with a wildcard playoff appearance. However, despite a defense learning on the fly and a limited roster of offensive talent, Hurts did enough in his first year to find a way to get the job done.

2022 NFL Odds

Team Wins: Over/Under 8.5

Currently, many sportsbooks including Pennsylvania Sportsbooks have the Eagles’ Over/Under Team win total at 8.5 wins. This is somewhat surprising, as, despite the easy schedule, the young Eagles roster should build on their late-season success from last season and be able to at least match their win total from a year ago. Hurts wasn’t a world-beater, but if he can take a step forward and the team can add some more reliable targets 9 wins shouldn’t be that difficult.

Eagles 2022 home games

  1. Dallas Cowboys
  2. New York Giants
  3. Washington Commanders
  4. Green Bay Packers
  5. Minnesota Vikings
  6. Jacksonville Jaguars
  7. Tennessee Titans
  8. New Orleans Saints
  9. Pittsburgh Steelers

Eagles 2022 away games

  1. Dallas Cowboys
  2. New York Giants
  3. Washington Commanders
  4. Chicago Bears
  5. Detroit Lions
  6. Houston Texans
  7. Indianapolis Colts
  8. Arizona Cardinals

The Eagles will have more home games than away games in 2022 and will face a handful of rebuilding teams including the Texans, Jaguars, Lions, and Bears. They will also face off against the Steelers minus Big Ben and of course, division rival rebuilds the Giants and Commanders twice.

Off-season Moves

The Eagles didn’t make many big offseason acquisitions this offseason but have added some quality players that should make an impact in 2022.

Haason Reddick (DE/LB )– Size doesn’t matter if you’re good at what you do. Reddick is 6-1, 235 lbs, which would be considered small for LB, but 23.5 sacks in the past two years proves he’s a man that can make an impact on the football field. Reddick also got 27 TFLs and 8 FFs. Simply put, Reddick is a playmaker. The best guess is that the Eagles will use him in a hybrid role. Reddick will be the SAM linebacker in some sets. He’ll be a pure edge rusher in other sets. Jimmy Bama wrote a piece on the Reddick signing.

Kyzir White (LB)– The Eagles were very interested in adding fifth-year linebacker Kyzir White who in 2021 set a career-high with 144 total tackles – third-most in the AFC with seven games in double digits – and has the speed and athleticism to cover in the passing game. Playing safety in his college days at West Virginia, White is a multi-talented linebacker that the Eagles have been lacking for years.

Zach Pascal (WR )– A very underrated signing. The former Colt WR is entering his 5th year in the NFL and knows Nick Sirianni’s system very well. He joins a WR group that lacks experience. Pascal could become a leader in a very young locker room along with being a reliable target for Hurts.

My Take

I like the Over of 8.5 team wins for the Eagles in 2022. The Birds have a similar (soft) schedule to what they had a year ago and made enough changes in my opinion that should make a difference on the field. These are good NFL Odds, and I’m going to get in on them before the NFL Draft.

Fans are torn on Jalen Hurts’ future, but he should benefit from an offseason with a coaching staff that can help him take the next step in the passing game. Hurts haters are quick to point out his struggles with the deep ball, but if you re-watch his 2021 highlights, you can see he made a lot of good plays in the passing game, he just needs to be more consistent in 2022.
