Davante Adams Fantasy 2025
Last year, I noticed that the fantasy industry had started cooling on Davante Adams. The former first-round pick in most fantasy drafts had slipped to the end of the 2nd round/beginning of the 3rd. It seemed to make sense since Adams’ QB talent had gone from Aaron Rodgers to Derek Carr to Jimmy Garoppolo to Gardner Minshew. There were also reports surfacing of Adams’ displeasure with the Las Vegas Raiders organization, which eventually led to Adams being traded to the Jets and reunited with Rodgers. Those things being said, Adams was WR 12 in standard and PPR scoring in 2024. Some highlights include:
- Over 1,000 yards receiving
- 85 receptions on 141 targets
- 8 TDs
- An average of 11 fantasy points per game (though there were spike weeks and dud weeks)
Also, that was only in 14 games.
Davante Adams is now on the Los Angeles Rams, which could be more significant than many realize.
Offensive Line Upgrades
I covered this already in the Kyren Williams fantasy impact article, but the Rams had some issues in 2024 with their offensive line. LG Jonah Jackson played under 300 snaps, which was less than ideal. In 2025 he is now on the Bears. The Rams have elected to replace him by moving former C Steve Avila to LG and have drafted a new C in 6th rounder Beaux Limmer and signed C Coleman Shelton as a depth piece. In short, the Rams should be in top half of the league in terms of offensive line talent and statistics…provided they stay healthy.
What Are the Odds?
Again, Bet MGM has the Rams as -180 to make the playoffs, +180 to win the division, +900 to win the conference, and +2000 to win the Super Bowl. I like all those possibilities considering the price.
Adams’s future bets provide some nice odds as well:
- MVP = +50,000
- Offensive Player of the Year = +10,000
- Most receiving yards = +4000
- Total receiving yards = O/U 900 – 925.5 (depending on the book)
- O/U 8.5 TDs
I’m staying away from Adams having the most yards or becoming an MVP or OPOY, but I like the yardage prop as well as the TD prop. Adams is a weapon in the red zone and will likely have a couple of games with multiple TDs. He has also cleared that yardage figure in 8 of his last 9 seasons.
Fantasy Impact
The Los Angeles Rams have committed $44 million to Davante Adams over the next two years, with $26 guaranteed. This was also after they jettisoned former fantasy darling Cooper Kupp. Teams don’t make moves like this unless they are planning to use players like Davante.
The prime days of Davante Adams may be gone by now. However, he is still only 32 years old and is one of the best route runners in all of football. Additionally, he is unlikely to be “the guy” here in LA. Kyren Williams and Puka Nacua will likely be larger focal points in the Rams’ attack. Nacua will now have the opportunity to spend more time lining up in the slot, his natural position, and is likely to command a larger target share with Matthew Stafford at quarterback. With defenses having to respect those two players, Adams should enjoy more single coverage than in recent years. This could be a natural fit for Adams and the Rams’ offense, as he utilizes his skills on the perimeter to provide a variety of options for Sean McVay and Mr. Stafford.
Adams is currently going off the board around pick 40, WR18. He has finished as a top 12 WR in fantasy scoring the last 5 years. Again, much depends on the Rams starters staying healthy, but provided they do, or only incur minor issues, then Adams should finish inside the top 12 of WRs for the 6th straight season. Getting a player like that in round 4 is a solid decision.
Let’s hope he doesn’t get all upset and get traded to the Steelers.
