Dynasty Football Tip: Buy Low Kaelon Black
San Francisco 49ers running back Kaelon Black carried the ball seven times for 25 yards in Sunday’s 35-13 win over the Miami Dolphins. He remained the complementary back behind Christian McCaffrey, who scored both goal-line touchdowns. San Francisco hosts the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday.
The workload was lighter than the season opener. In the 27-7 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne on Sept. 10, Black carried 14 times for 65 yards. He played 28 snaps, a 43.8 percent share, and out-carried McCaffrey, who had 10 carries for 68 yards. His snap share dropped Sunday. An exact Week 2 figure is not confirmed.
Through two games, Black has 21 carries for 90 yards, one catch for 5 yards and no touchdowns. McCaffrey handled the goal-line work against Miami.
However, if you’ve watched him play, you can see the potential. McCaffrey is the obvious lead back. But Black has served as the complementary option nicely. With CMC’s long history of injuries, this feels like a trade you should make now that you’ll thank yourself later for.
