Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins was arrested in Florida on Friday, July 12, following allegations of domestic violence stemming from an incident earlier in the month. According to reports, the alleged altercation occurred on July 7 near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The accuser told police that Judkins struck her multiple times during an argument while inside a vehicle. She later reported the incident, citing visible bruises to her arm, thigh, and chin.
Judkins, 20, was arrested on a first-degree misdemeanor charge of domestic battery and booked into Broward County Jail. He was released on a $2,500 bond. A judge subsequently found probable cause for the charge, issued a no-contact order, and prohibited him from possessing firearms.
Judkins has not publicly commented on the incident. A standout in college at both Ole Miss and Ohio State, Judkins was expected to compete for playing time with the Browns this season. With the team navigating changes at running back following Nick Chubb’s departure, Judkins was seen as a potential contributor in the backfield.

Further back, the Browns also invested heavily in players like Josh Gordon, whose immense potential was repeatedly overshadowed by suspensions related to substance abuse violations. In my pre-draft rankings, I had him as the RB7, ahead of players like RJ Harvey and Cam Skattebo. If Judkins is sidelined, Sampson could quickly emerge as a breakout candidate. As for Judkins, I’ve had him ranked alongside his former Ohio State teammate TreVeyon Henderson as the RB3/RB4 in this rookie class. This incident may be enough to give Henderson a slight edge. While I don’t expect Judkins’ redraft value to drop significantly in the short term, any further developments could start to shift that. His dynasty outlook, however, is now more uncertain. If the legal process drags into the offseason, there’s a strong chance the NFL issues a suspension for 2026, even if it’s delayed through the typical legal maneuvering.
