Blake Corum Continues to Carve Out a Role in Rams Backfield
Los Angeles Rams running back Blake Corum is pushing for carries alongside Kyren Williams, according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated. Breer noted that Corum is seeing the game faster and looks capable of adding more big-play ability to the Rams’ physical rushing attack.
That assessment tracks with the jump Corum made in 2025. He rushed 145 times for 746 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 5.1 yards per carry, and roughly one in every 6.3 of his attempts gained at least 10 yards, an explosive-run rate that ranked second among backs with at least 100 carries. His 49.7% success rate ranked third among all qualified running backs. Williams remains the lead option after handling 259 carries for 1,252 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns last season, so Breer’s report does not signal a changing backfield hierarchy. It does, however, reinforce Corum’s place as a meaningful complement who can earn touches without Williams leaving the field entirely.
Fantasy Impact
That efficiency profile is exactly why Corum looks like a value at his current ADP price. He’s going off the board well outside the top tiers at running back despite ranking among the league’s most efficient runners on a per-touch basis a year ago, a gap between production quality and draft cost that doesn’t come around often at his ADP.
I know a lot of people view him as a handcuff, but in the Rams offense that ran the ball as effectively as any team in football last year, Corum’s standalone efficiency gives him a real shot at flex-worthy weeks even with Williams active, something most backups at his price point can’t offer.
