You’ll Always Be “Pacman”
Dallas knew what they were in for when they traded for Adam “Pacman” Jones back in April. Even with all the good PR and promises to the commissioner, Adam Jones got himself back in what looks to be trouble that should end his Pro Football career after being cut by the Cowboys on Wednesday.
In the summer of 2007, a shooting occurred outside an Atlanta strip club; one of the shooting victims states Adam Jones was
involved, but could never prove it. After months of an ongoing investigation, Adam Jones has seemed to be linked although he denied the allegations. Jones missed six games this season for violating the leagues player conduct policy after an Oct. 7 scuffle with a team bodyguard. He missed a seventh game with an injury. At the end of it all, Dallas just felt that with the off field problems, along with his average at best play on the field, they would be better off letting Jones go.
Tennessee received a fourth-round draft pick for this 1st round shit disturber, and were also supposed to get a sixth-rounder next year. However, since Jones was suspended again, Dallas will instead receive a fifth-round pick in 2009, which almost seems like “loser insurance” for betting against the shooter when playing craps (no pun intended).
The Cowboys gave up a lot for this “Super Bowl” run of theirs, getting WR Roy Williams and adding Pacman Jones…maybe they should ask the Eagles how it’s going?
