Where Oh Where Will T.O Go?
Little is being made of Terrell Owens next NFL destination.
It may have something to do with the subpar season with the Buffalo Bills last season, T.O’s overall numbers were not what he or anyone had expected, burning many fantasy football owners.
Although let’s not forget that the Bills had poor play by both the offensive line and the quarterback position in 2009. Owens is still a better option than many of the other receivers currently in the NFL, and If he were to play up to his potential and be on a team with a solid offense , Owens could once again be a force not only in the NFL, but in fantasy football.
However, there may not be a lot of teams that will be willing to work with an aging receiver who many times has been dubbed to be a diva. It’s hard to forget some of Owens antics from years past. Hopefully, his great talent and potential will overcome any negatives that may be associated with him. A one or two year contract could easily get him on your team’s roster, as a one year deal got him on the Bills last season. Here is a listing of three teams that may be interested in his services.
3) Washington Redskins – The Redskins have been surprisingly quiet this offseason, but they could use the help of Owens. Santana Moss was largely ineffective last season and the teams young receivers have not developed into the playmakers the team will need under Mike Shanahans new offense. Owens may be a good fit for the Skins as he would not be under contract for very long and would be able to make some big plays for that offense as the young receivers continue to learn and develop.
2) Miami Dolphins – The Dolphins are another team that has young receivers who have yet to live up to their potential. Although, there have been a few good games here and there, each of the receivers on the roster could strive from the addition of Owens. Don’t forget that Bill Parcells is sitting in the big office for the Dolphins, and he is not one to shy away from controversial players.
1) Oakland Raiders – This may be a natural fit for T.O. He would be openly embraced by Raider Nation and would no doubt look good in the silver and black. This is a team with a young quarterback and again a team with receivers who are not quite ready to take on the role of a number one receiver. If willing, Owens could help these young receivers and the Raiders develop back into a respect franchise.
