Week 4 Fantasy Projections: Colts vs. Jaguars
Indianapolis Colts 2-1 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars 1-2
Week 4 of the NFL schedule features a number of division rivals facing each other. Included is this AFC South tilt between the Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The way these two teams have each looked so far this season, this game shouldn’t even be close.
The Colts offense is really clicking right now. Peyton Manning has throw 3 touchdowns in each of the Colts first 3 games. Even with 2nd wide out Pierre Garcon out last week, unheralded Blair White stepped in from the practice squad and scored a touchdown. Manning has been particularly rough on the Jaguars ailing defense, throwing 7 touchdowns in Jacksonville over the last 2 seasons. It seems nothing can slow him down.
Indy’s running game has been somewhat less impressive. Both Joseph Addai and Donald Brown have battled injuries. When healthy, neither runner has been effective. Brown punched in the Colts only rushing score of the year. Assuming the Colts are playing with a big second half lead, it’s possible that Addai can have respectable numbers here, perhaps getting his first rushing score of the season. Brown might not play much in this game, as he’s been limited in practice.
Maybe that talk of Maurice Jones-Drew having knee surgery in the off season was true. The entire Jags offense is stuck in neutral. David Garrard is having his worst season as a pro, and the team has scored 1 touchdown in the last 2 weeks. Both games were blow out losses.
Jones-Drew has yet to score in any game this season, but the prospects of him ending that streak are good. Indianapolis has a very poor run defense, as witnessed in Week 1 versus Arian Foster. The Jags may try a run-heavy playbook, in an effort to keep the ball out of Manning’s hands and to keep Jacksonville’s own ailing defense off the field as much as possible.
