Waiver Wire Drops
NFL Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Goodbyes.
In connection with our Week 3 Fantasy football waiver wire article, Gridiron Experts has complied a list of wasted talent that you might want to consider dropping. No fantasy site can perfectly predict the NFL weather. Although, here is a handful of serious bums that you’re probably holding onto for a rainy day, that will never come.
- T.J. Houshmandzadeh, WR- Ravens
2 catches in 3 weeks is not worth a spot on your fantasy team. Housh may turn it on later on in the season, but with his age and the tested and true hands of Derek Mason, your better off looking for a replacement on the wire.
- Fred Taylor, RB- Patriots
Will you ever start this guy? Probably not. New England loves to give everybody a carry, making Taylor a risky start even if he was named the starter for a week. Letting him go on the waiver wire might force some other owner to snatch him up, causing them to deal with this ugly blind date.
- Bernard Berrian, WR- Vikings
Berrian has not been a favorite target for Favre and holds little value in comparison to the one week match-ups found on the waiver wire. He does however take on some of the punt return duties, some match him to your leagues scoring system first.
- David Garrard, WR- Jaguars
Drop him as fast as you can! David Garrard looks terrible and holds little to no fantasy value at this point.
- Toby Gerhart, RB- Vikings
This is another player that is taking up valuable space on your fantasy bench. You can prey Adrian Peterson gets hurt and Gerhart becomes a star, but he will clog up a roster spot all year with that kind of thinking. Gerhart plays more like a fullback, let him go and grab a RB that will at least get his hands on the ball more frequently. Remember, back up RB’s don’t always turn out to be superstars when given the chance.
- Steve Slaton, RB- Texans
What a bum. From a worthy keeper a season ago to butter fingers that screws up kick return duties. Slaton is in the dog’s doghouse and is lucky he still has a job. Drop’em.
