Tony Gonzalez Wants Out
Tony Gonzalez Wants Out
When a trade didn’t go down at the trading deadline in October, Tony Gonzalez acted as if it didn’t bother him. Now that the season is over, there’s no need to sugar coat it… Tony wants out. With the Chiefs still dragging their feet as to who will be the 2009 head coach, and with his 33rd birthday at the end of this month, Gonzalez wants a change of address, preferably one with a chance to go to a Super Bowl. Can you blame him? For all he’s done on and off the field in Kansas City, I’m sure he wants nothing more than a chance to see at least a playoff game that goes farther than the first round. I’m sure every team in the league would love to add the 12 veteran who had over 1000 yards receiving and 10 TD’s last year, but the price might scare teams off. I think back in October the offer was a 2nd round pick, with no takers it may require a pick in return. Gridiron Experts wouldn’t be surprised to see the following teams interested: Falcons, Titans, Eagles, Panthers, and even the Patriots. Jason Cole, of Yahoo Sports has a more in depth look at the Chiefs situation.
