Draft Prospect: Everette BrownEverette Brown
NFL pass rushers are always a safe bet in the first round. Getting a player with size and speed who you can throw into a rotation on the defensive line to wreak havoc is never a bad thing, but with first rounder’s demanding more and more money every year, teams tend look for value over team need. First round defensive ends that can not only find the quarterback, but also drop into coverage or stuff the run are rare. While some defensive ends in this years NFL draft may be over looked, Florida State’s Everette Brown will not.

This 6′4″ elite pass rusher has the all around ability to become a premium defensive player. Aside from his natural instinct for anticipating the snap, Everette Brown reads defenses well and rarely bites on misdirection or trick plays. Brown makes excellent tackles on the run, but could improve on his consistency of taking on run blockers. His athleticism and his ability to play defensive end in a 4-3 or a rush linebacker in a 3-4 is one of the main reasons why many have him to be the top defensive player in this years draft. Even if Everette Brown struggles with the pro game in his rookie year, his blinding speed to hunt quarterbacks should be enough to keep fans happy until he is groomed into a household name.
