Start’em Sit’em Week 3

Gridiron Experts Start’em Sit’em

Most sites recycle imaginary fantasy numbers with yards and touchdowns and quick blurbs on how great Drew Brees or Adrian Peterson is going to do, but you already know that. We here at Gridiron Experts are not about to insult your fantasy football intelligence by posting the obvious numbers, instead we go out on a limb and try spotting great fantasy match-ups that many people might be overlooking. Star players will always perform, but key players can thrive in one week situations through either an offensive game plan or an excellent match-up. Our goal is to zone in on these perfect match-ups and offer advice that might make your life a little easier. It always comes down to you making the last-minute call with your line-up, but hopefully we can help.

**Week 3** Green light to start most fantasy players with ease. The schedule is a little one-sided which should make for a bounce back week for those fantasy football starters who are struggling

Pierre Thomas vs. The Falcons
Your first reaction to this prediction is that Thomas is going to get extra carries from the Bush’s injury. You knew that, and it’s true, but the Saints also have an ideal match-up against the Falcons this week that leads to an added bonus to PT Cruiser’s fantasy value. The Falcons, despite their blow out win last week, hold one of the worst early averages against the run. Combining the first two games this season Atlanta is allowing a 5.9 yards per carry average against the run and have seen 2 plays that have went for more than 40 yards. With the always threat of Brees, Thomas will pick up some solid yardage.

Santana Moss vs. The Rams
Great match up for Moss this week. McNabb has made this veteran his first read and isn’t afraid to just fire it in Moss’s direction with the confidence that he’ll come down with it.

Brett Favre vs. The Lions
Ok, I know you’re pissed off about burning a high draft pick on Favre. He has most likely cost you 2 fantasy losses, but you have to see things threw and start him against the Lions. The Vikings are at home and should let ADP run over Detroit to point where they can take some shots with Favre to get him back into form.

Darren McFadden vs. The Cardinals
Why stop now? we had McFadden in our Week 2 Start’em Sit’em article and his match-up is even better this week. Playing the Cardinals as a NFC road trip really isn’t that far away. Many of the crazies will make the trip to cheer on the Black and Silver and watch McFadden abuse Arizona’s weak run defense.

Dez Bryant vs. The Texans
The Texans are 2-0 and look like offensive juggernauts. But their defense, especially against the pass hasn’t been very good. In the Texans two wins they have allowed 822 passing yards against. Bryant has been solid with around 50 yards in each of his first two games and is due to crack the end zone.

Terrell Owens vs. The Panthers
The Panthers have struggled against receivers so far this year. Hakim Nicks scored 3 TD’s  in week one and rookie Mike Williams had a TD for the Buc’s last week. Ochocinco has a broken rib which should lead to the cooking of some popcorn.

Mike Vick vs. The Jaguars
My god! Bench Vick? he’s crazy…Vick is amazing.

Really? is he really? The guy got clean-up duty against the Packers who were not prepared after the surprise injury to Kolb and then he went to a dome where the Lions sacked him 6 times. The Jaguars play well at home and are off an embarrassing loss to San Diego. Vick will be picked at least twice.

Steve Smith vs. The Bengals
New QB, and tough defense doesn’t translate into a great match-up
