Projections, Picks & Results: Week 2
Each Tuesday we get out the old marker and grade all of our fantasy predictions and picks from a full week of NFL action.
- Start Darren McFadden vs. the Rams
McFadden had a great day carrying the ball 30 times for a whopping 145 yards. No touchdowns but with the Quarterback change leaning towards Gradkowski, McFadden and the running game won’t be such a target by defenses. 8 men in the box is not what fantasy owners want.
- Start Ahmad Bradshaw vs. The Colts
This could have been so much better. The Gridiron Experts crew were blown away by the (lack there of) game plan against the Colts. There was one drive where Bradshaw gained 8 yards on first down, stepping up a 2nd and 2, the Giant’s then went to the air twice forcing a 3 and out. We figured a tight game with lots of running, but for some reason the G-Men decided to get into a shoot-out with Peyton, bad idea. Either way 89 yards is good enough to get a “check”
- Start Jeremy Maclin vs. The Lions
Saved by the score: 3 receptions for 26 yards and a touchdown.
- Start Donald Driver vs. The Bills
similar numbers to Maclin, little yardage but a TD puts a smile on all fantasy owners: 4 Rec. 38yds 1TD
- Bench Shonn Greene vs. The Patriots
If you’re happy with 52 yards then maybe you have different expectations for this guy. I’m chalking it up as a good call as even guys like the two RB’s listed above had better numbers than Greens and they were nowhere near invested as highly on your fantasy draft day. - Bench Ricky Williams vs. The Vikings
Maybe an easy call here, but still a good one: 10 carries 30 yards
- Start Legedu Naanee vs. the Jaguars
Naanee caught a 14 yard pass very early but was never seen again…my bad
- Bench Donovan McNabb vs. The Texans
Wow, I don’t even think McNabb’s Mom thought he’d have a day like he did. My prediction was that McNabb would need a little more time in this offense, but D-Mac has got it down.
1-2 with Diesel’s free picks. Eagles had an 18 point lead to cover a 6.5 point spread and feel asleep while the Patriots blew an early lead.
Tough week, but Ben Hoyt had top picks with 11-5
