NFL Free Agency

Thanks to the updated list provided by ProFootball Talk and the cap number finally decided on by the NFL, fans will now have a ballpark idea of which teams will be the most active in Free Agency.

  • The Cardinals are 16.4 million over the Salary Cap, making the Peyton Manning tour an interesting conundrum. Clearly the first player cut from the roster if Manning did sign would be Kevin Kolb. Peyton will likely eat up a large portion of any NFL salary cap, so a fire sale may have to take place for whatever team he signs with.
  • The Colts continue to release anyone with Peyton Manning “Cooties” making the Andrew Luck welcome a difficult one to swallow. Even with all the teams recent releases, the Colts have only 11.6 million available money under the cap, and will likely want to find bargain players to try to replace all the losses.
  • The Broncos have a massive amount of available cap room and could use their extra dough as a pitch to Peyton Manning as a “going shopping” list for players he would like to add to his offense.
  • The Bengals look strong to have a great 2012, not only are they currently the top NFL team with the most available cap room, but they have 2 first round picks. The Bengals could make a push for a big name running back either by moving up in the draft or signing one in free agency.
