NFL Draft Wide Receiver Class Extremely Deep
NFL Draft WR Class Extremely Deep
Apparently I’m not the only one who thinks this years wide receiver core is elite. SI.com draft analyst Tony Pauline stated today that he believes the 2012 WR class is perhaps the deepest position in the 2012 draft. “I’ve got 41 receivers with draftable grades, and typically you’re only looking at about 31 to 33 that get drafted,” Pauline said. “You’ll be able to get some really good receivers in rounds two, three, even four and five. But the best you’ll get in that range is a No. 2 guy.” This factor could push top-rated receivers Michael Floyd and Kendall Wright down the board some.
So aside from the ones you know, lets take a look at a few mid round prospects.

You don’t have a lot of updated 40 Times. Sanu ran a 4.41 and 4.48 at his pro day and Wright ran a 4.41 and 4.46. people keep forgetting things like that. Scouts also said Randle and Sanu were stutter stepping out of the blocks at the Combine which hurt their time. They are both faster than they ran at the combine.
That’s a fair point John, but often with Pro Days there are different surfaces, wind, and other conditions that can help or hinder a time. We chose to simplify things by using the officially listed times at the Combine, where all players were on even ground. Sometimes we will reference and updated Pro Day if it’s something significant. Thanks for your comment.
