Money Where Your Mouth Is Week 16
Money Where Your Mouth Is Week 16
This a weekly column that puts our expertise to the test, as we show a couple of the bets that we are placing on specific games, or prop bets offered by the many sports books and casinos. Of course
we are a sports betting advisory, so our goal is to help you win money, but if you can’t afford to place bets…don’t!
Safe Bets
New England -7.5
This game will be classic Bill Belichick coaching: run the ball, control the clock, and keep Warner and his weapons off the field. The cold weather will play into the Patriots game plan, with gusts of wind disrupting the timing between Kurt Warner and his receivers. The Cardinals have no running game and will look outmatched from the first snap. Take the Patriots to cover.
San Diego +4
The Chargers have no business being in the playoffs, but that doesn’t mean they’re not going to throw away this opportunity. The AFC West is so bad that a win in Tampa and help from the Buffalo Bills would give them a chance to steal the Division title away from Denver in week 17. Tampa Bay is banged up and look terrible on offense with Brian Griese. Jeff Garica is questionable, but he might be pushed into the starting role for such an important game. Nevertheless, the Chargers offense can move the ball, and they almost seem to play better in desperatation mode. I think this game will be close, but with 4 points in your pocket the Chargers will cover.

Philadelphia -5
The Eagles play great football in December and seem to be on a roll right now. Brian Westbrook is healthy, and the play calling is finally starting to make sense in a more balanced attack. Not to mention McNabb, who has been on fire since being benched against the Ravens. The Redskins are falling apart; after losing left tackle Jon Jansen, moving the ball has become very difficult. Snubbed pro bowl defensive end Trent Cole should have fun vs. Jansen’s replacement in a day filled with Eagles blitzes from every direction. Philly should have no problem
covering the spread.
Long Shot of the Week
Kansas City + 3.5
Kansas City is playing hard every week, and their record isn’t a fair representation of how close the Chiefs have been to winning some big games. The x-factor this week is the cold weather; Miami can try to prepare all they want, but saying it and doing it are two different things. This might be a field goal game, but with +3.5 we like the Chiefs in their last home game of the year.
Overall: Safe Bets 23-14-1 / Long Shots 8-4
