Mike Vick To Get His Bonus
The Philadelphia Eagles have reportedly contacted Michael Vick’s agent Joel Segal to announce that they will pay his $1.5 million roster bonus on Wednesday. Should the Eagles opt to keep Vick for the next season they will have to fork over $5.2 million to the former 1st overall pick.
$1.5 Million affords the Eagles the right to Michael Vick until they decide to give him the remainder of the $5.2. Vick is likely to be on the team’s roster until preseason just in case the market changes and his value increases (if the eagles were to have had a good enough offer for him prior to March, 5th they would have pulled the trigger and not needed to pay him the bonus).
There is rumored expressed interest in Vick, but nothing too serious. Should he stay on the roster Vick will re-join the “Shane Falco Corner” with young gun Kevin Kolb. NFL.com reports that “Philadelphia expects Vick, starter Donovan McNabb and backup Kevin Kolb all to be in training camp this summer”.
