Marvin Harrison Released!
Marvin Harrison Released!
The possible release of the second all-time wide receiver Marvin Harrison sounded like just a rumor a few weeks ago, but turned out to actually happen. The Indianapolis Colts asked Harrison to take a pay cut; when he refused and asked to be released, the Colts made his wish come true. Respect is something that will be overlooked here by the Colts organization. Most teams would drag Harrison through the mud in a tough love over money or compensation, but with free agency only days away the chance to unload about $6 million on next season’s salary cap is too good to be true.
If Eagles fans could stop bashing McNabb on message boards about his contract extension long enough to connect the dots, they might get excited over this news. Harrison, who lives in Philly and still wishes to play despite his age, could be reunited with his former Syracuse teammate QB Donovan McNabb, while getting to play in the city where he lives. McNabb has said his contract is more about free agent signings or the lack thereof after more than one request for play makers, and will wait to see what happens before making demands that I’m sure the Eagles organization will roll their eyes at, despite his great season.
