New York Jets Knock Off Patriots With Ease

Jets Knock Off Patriots With Ease

You’d think stalling out and missing a field goal after picking off Tom Brady in the first quarter, would be a discouraging loss of momentum. Yet, the New York Jets seemed in control nearly the entire game as the stole the show in a 28-21 victory.

Tom Brady was sacked 5 times and was out of sync with his receiving core. As far as the Belichick legacy goes for turning average NFL talent into stars, a big time wide receiver would have definitely helped today. New England lost for the first time in nine games and were held to their third-lowest point total this season.

The game-plan was very simple, yet effective for the Jets: Get pressure on Brady and never allow time for the big play, all the while keeping a conservative balanced offensive attack. Mark Sanchez looked to be 100% and even had a little extra mustard on his passes today. The Jets often threw early and used their strong power running attack to pick up short yardage. Both Ladainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene have amped their games this post-season, which great news for an offense that is about to face the NFL’s toughest defense next week in Pittsburgh.

The turning point of the Jets thrilling upset had to of been the botched punt attempt right before half time. What seemed like a possible trick play could have easily been a poor snap, either the case it was 7 points that New England just couldn’t seem to get back.

On a personal note, I was the only Gridiron Expert writer to have called this game, going 4-0 with my picks and 4-0 against the spread this weekend- not to shabby
