Herm No Longer Head Chief
Herm No Longer Head Chief
The Kansas City Chiefs fired Herm Edwards on Friday, adding to the already record number of coaches getting the pink slip in 2009. Where’s the Fox network when you need them, as there are enough ex-coaches for a bad reality show. Edwards was no doubt a victim of new GM Scott Pioli, although the Chiefs worst two-year span in team history have been these last few seasons with him. Herm Edwards was in Kansas City for 3 years with a record of 15-33, he is well respected by his players and should have no problem picking up an assistant coaching job somewhere. Edwards career record as a head coach is 54-74 and 2-4 in playoff games.
Rumors are that Mike Shanahan is close to a deal with the Chiefs, which could make for some interesting divisional games next year. Mike Shanahan is long time ex-coach of the Broncos, his zone blocking offensive running style would be a perfect fit for Larry Johnson.
