Favre-portrait-1Favre Will Decide July 30th, Do You Still Care?

Brett Favre told The Associated Press that he’ll give the Vikings an answer on whether or not he’ll play by July 30, the start of training camp. I’m sure the deadline will be pushed back again as Favre’s indecisive off-season has been one long boring “maybe”.

I like Brett Favre, I enjoyed watching him for years with the Packers, but 10 years down the road I hope we don’t remember this on again, off again love affair with playing for the NFL.

I know what you’re thinking, why doesn’t Favre get into coaching, or get a job with ESPN like all the other washed up players do when the time comes? He could be the next John Madden, adding funny jokes in the booth like he did during commercial breaks or during pre-game warm ups. If anyone could add

insight to the quarterback position or tell a great story I’m sure it’s Brett Favre. But the reason why we’ll never see him put on the company tie is simple, he’s old school. Brett Favre wants the ball. He needs to call the shots, read the defenses and throw the deep pass for a score. He is football, and for that I respect him.

For all of the ups and downs that this great NFL Quarterback has had to go through over the years, he deserves one more chance, but you know the old saying: it’s always better to burn out than fade away….unless your name is Favre.

This video is wicked!
