Fantasy Preview & Waiver Steals for Week 8

Fantasy Preview & Waiver Steals for Week 8

How are you doing in your fantasy pool this season? Are you going to make the playoffs? It’s crunch time for a lot of people, as time is running out to salvage their playoff hopes and avoid being a bottom dweller for the holidays. Every year there are a few players that show up mid season who were un-drafted, and they become waiver wire studs who save your season or help you with your playoff push. This year is different; we haven’t seen as many back ups come in and light up the score boards, or late round rookies take starting roles, which begs the question: is there anyone worth investing in on the waiver wire?

Stock Rising

RB Aaron Stecker - The Saints lost Reggie Bush for the next month, and Stecker will get more carries than you think, even with Deuce McAllister.
WR Antonio Bryant - Tampa is on a hot streak, and with J. Galloway still on the mend, Bryant’s numbers should stay strong.
WR Kevin Curtis - We mentioned that you should grab this guy and stash him on your bench a couple of weeks ago, and now it’s going to pay off. Big numbers are on the way with the next two opponents the Eagles face (ATL, SEA).
TE Ben Watson - Finally!! Watson has been a bust for the first half of the season, but with M. Cassel and the Pats heading to STL, he’s worth picking up.

Diamond in the Rough
These players might be back on the waiver wire the week after you pick them up, but if you have space on your bench, take a shot, you could get lucky.

QB Daunte Culpepper – Culpepper is talking to the Chiefs right now, and he could be a sleeper QB if he gets picked up by a new team.
RB Benjarvus Green-Ellis (NE) – Who? When Sammy Morris went down on Monday night, many thought Kevin Faulk would pick up the slack, but B. Green-Ellis had 13 carries for 65 yards and a TD.
WR Greg Camarillo – This Miami WR could be a one week wonder or a great sleeper in the coming weeks, as the Dolphins go up against below average defenses.
WR Josh Morgan – A deep threat WR that Mike Martz has been designing plays for.
