Dungy Visits QB Vick in Kansas Prison
Dungy Visits QB Vick in Kansas Prison- DC
Vick saw a friendly face recently at the federal prison in Leavenworth, Kansas, from a life that he used have: his name is Tony Dungy.
Quarterback Mike Vick is completing his 23-month jail sentence on federal dog fighting charges, and is expected to serve out his remaining sentence under home confinement in Hampton, Va next month. Vick is hoping to return to the NFL this fall. Commissioner Roger Goodell, who suspended him indefinitely, will meet with Vick later this summer to discuss whether he can go back on the field.
“I can confirm that Michael met with Coach Dungy,” Vick’s agent, Joel Segal, said. “The discussions were private, but the meeting was very positive.”
Retired Colts coach Tony Dungy, who met with the jailed QB on Tuesday, has said he wants to counsel young people. I’m happy that Tony Dungy has found a hobby with helping troubled kids…but Mike Vick is not a kid! A visit from a respected NFL coach could go a long way towards the commissioner’s decision of reinstatement. If more support from the NFL goes Vick’s way, his chances of re-entering the NFL will become more likely. I love animals, and don’t ever want to see this monster in the league again.
