Denver Broncos Fire Josh McDaniels
Arguably the worst short-term coaching decision made by the Denver Broncos was let go on Monday. Josh McDaniels won the hearts of the Denver faithful with his 6-0 start to the 2009 season. But, what started out great, quickly spiraled out of control into a mess of bad trades and embarrassing losses to end his very short yet franchise-damaging nightmare as head coach.

Jay Cutler is a success in Chicago, Brandon Marshall was a steal for Miami and Peyton Hillis looks to be the dagger that has Bronco fans hanging their heads. Most experts are speaking of Spygate 2 as the main reasons for McDaniels departure in Denver, but the fact of the matter is, the guy just wasn’t getting it done. I don’t care how old a head coach is, if he doesn’t improve your team, then he shouldn’t be there. This excuse of young coaches getting a year or two to learn the ropes is simply garbage.I can honestly say this was the smartest move the Broncos have made since making McDaniels the head coach.
The team announced that running back coach Eric Studesville will serve as the team’s interim coach for the remaining four games of the season.
McDaniels had nearly $7 million left on his contract, and Owner Pat Bowlen is still on the hook for millions more he owes Mike Shanahan, whom he fired last year. That means he’ll be paying three head coaches next season.
