DeAngelo Williams Out, Stewart To Start

DeAngelo Williams didn’t make the trip to St.Louis giving J-Stew the green light in fantasy pools this Sunday. Stewart has been an absolute bust this season playing behind Williams. In week 7, Stewart saw the ball almost double his season’s average for carries for the year but could only put up 29 yards. The Rams play well at home, yet have a rushing defense that isn’t overly impressive. St.Louis allows an average of 108 yards a per game at around 4.6 yards per carry.

Stewart will want to take full advantage of his opportunity and lead his team to its 2nd win of the season, which would be back to back wins after beating the 49er’s last week. Rams starting DT Fred Robbins is questionable with a Toe injury and MLB James Laurinaitis is being bothered by a sore knee. Stewart is a north and south type runner that should have a good day on the road in St.Louis.

Jonathan Stewart is in his 3rd season after being drafted 13th overall in the 2008. With back to back 10 touchdown seasons Stewart was expected to continue his endzone streak but has only punched one in this year. Although, after looking over his career stats, J-Stew could be the type of RB that needs to build up steam with a full workload. Last year Stewart was most productive in games he got 17+ carries.
