Contract talks took longer than expected, but the Indianapolis Colts have agreed to terms with running back Ahmad Bradshaw on a one-year, $1.1 million contract.
Bradshaw was a productive asset of the New York Giants running game for years, but injury concerns have really hurt his overall value this off-season. The former Giant averaged 4.6 yards per carry in 2012 and did crack the 1,000 yard mark.
Bradshaw’s one year deal is a massive bargain for the Colts if he is even half as productive as he was for the Giants. The former Giant is an excellent blocker and should step in as the team’s 3rd down RB right away. Ahmad Bradshaw is only 27 years old and will enter camp as competition for Vick Ballard, even if the coaches deny it. The Colts running game has been abysmal the last two years and with Bradshaw now on board the team may have found their spark to balancing out their offense.
