2011 Free Agency Preview: Wide Receivers Here’s the second part of our 2011 free agency preview from a fantasy football perspective. Part one previewed the running backs and quarterbacks. This time we take a look at the wide receivers. Wide Receivers Vincent Jackson- Despite missing the first 12 games with the Chargers last year due to a hold out and team mandated suspension, Jackson still showed glimpses of why he’ll be the most sought after wide out on the market. He’s also big enough to make for an imposing target in the end-zone. If the Jets decide to focus on signing Santonio Holmes, Edwards will command attention from other teams looking for an upgrade. Jets Invisible First Half, Steelers Hang On For Win

steelers

The numbers in the first half of Sunday’s AFC conference game were absolutely astonishing. The Steelers had completely dominated Sunday’s AFC battle, much like the Packers in the NFC conference game earlier. Rashard Mendenhall had a games-worth of rushing yards and despite a late pity field goal, Steelers fans could call the first half nearly perfect. But this the NFL, and teams of this caliber will always make adjustments as the New York Jets did to salvage whatever chances they could. Anyone who didn’t see a New York Jet comeback really doesn’t  know this Rex Ryan’s team at all. After scoring 24 unanswered, the Jets flipped the switch and put up 19 straight points of their…

New York Jets Knock Off Patriots With Ease

Jets Knock Off Patriots With Ease You’d think stalling out and missing a field goal after picking off Tom Brady in the first quarter, would be a discouraging loss of momentum. Yet, the New York Jets seemed in control nearly the entire game as the stole the show in a 28-21 victory. Tom Brady was sacked 5 times and was out of sync with his receiving core. As far as the Belichick legacy goes for turning average NFL talent into stars, a big time wide receiver would have definitely helped today. New England lost for the first time in nine games and were held to their third-lowest point total this season. The game-plan was very…
