Brian Westbrook To Have Surgery

Philadelphia Eagles Mr. Everything Brian Westbrook is scheduled to have surgery to clean up some bone spurs in his right ankle. The timeline for his recovery is set to be close to the start of the regular season. The Eagles sent Westbrook to Baltimore on Wednesday to see Dr. Mark Myerson, the ankle specialist who treated Terrell Owens five years ago. Westbrook also had surgery on his left knee three months earlier, which could become the beginning of a long list of setbacks in store for this aging running back. Brian Westbrook has played through many nagging injuries over the years, and while it seems he has never lost a step, this September Westbrook will be celebrating his 30th birthday.


Fantasy owners may want to lock up new rookie Shady McCoy for insurance this year.
