Brett Favre Won’t Stay Down

Brett FavreBelieve it or not, Brett Favre may come out of retirement for the second straight season after he asked the Jets to release him last week. Thestandard_wheelchair Vikings are now the team of interest and in talks with number 4 about playing this coming season. Head coach Brad Childress and Favre plan to meet at an undisclosed location later this week to discuss the possibility of renouncing his retirement from the NFL.

I loved watching Brett Favre play for years in Green Bay, but last year was obvious that he doesn’t have the arm to last the whole season. If Brett does play in Minnesota this year, the Vikings need to use him in a much more reserved role, meaning the team needs to continue to run the ball with A. Peterson and use the pass only in key situations, play action, or only 3rd and longs. Farve’s arm fell off at the end of last year and a return is hurting his chance of entering the Hall of Fame, but a team where he’s not asked to do as much might give one last chance for a ring.
