Brandon Marshall Fantasy Outlook

Brandon Marshall Fantasy Outlook

Do the Miami Dolphins have a negative or positive impact on Brandon Marshall in the realm of fantasy? Can Chad Henne effectively put him to use? Will Marshall be overshadowed by a run first offensive attack? These are all valid questions for someone who last season caught 101 passes for 1120 yards and 10 touchdowns in 15 games.

At first glance one might be tempted to think that B-Marsh’s value has sunk into the pits; however that may not be the case. Marshall could be a very effective part of this offense (especially and thankfully due to the absence of Ginn Jr.) and the emergence of Chad Henne. 100 receptions in a season is a lofty number and Marshall has reached it in three consecutive seasons. Hitting the century mark of 4 seasons in a row maybe a bt of a stretch with the Fish, although that shouldn’t scare you away from a receiver who is still ranked in the top 10 on all major fantasy boards.

Through 14 games Chad Henne afforded himself a real opportunity as the Dolphins starter last season. While Chad may not have overly impressed all of his critics, he did showcase an uncanny arm strength and understanding of the Dolphins offensive system. Lacking a big play wide receiver Henne truly didn’t have the opportunity to stand out, Marshall could provide him with the aid he needs in turn creating a mutually beneficial relationship.

A run first offensive attack characterizes the Miami Dolphins we see today. If anything this should help Marshall succeed, as the pressure will be relieved from his shoulders. If defenders try to bring safety help over the top on the physical wide out, they are sure to leave a gap in the running lanes, and with such a strong running game, defenses cannot afford to do this on most downs, Marshall should see an obvious benefit.

B-Marsh owners or potential draftees need not worry, Marshall should benefit from this trade. Chad Henne may also reap some fantasy benefits too, so keep him on your radar as a potential number 2 fantasy QB.

Grabbing 100 receptions 4 seasons in a row would be a massive accomplishment, that I do not however foresee happening, so naturally in PPR leagues his value does drop a minute amount. But overall, player makers like Brandon Marshall should never be over thought as they do one thing….make plays
