Denver Broncos 2009 Preview

Denver Broncos 2009 Preview The Denver Broncos have had one of the worst off seasons in recent memory and it’s not over yet. Given that they traded away Pro Bowl quarterback Jay Cutler, they aren’t going to be favored too often when it comes to NFL betting odds – as a matter of fact, they are three-point underdogs to the Bengals in the latest week 1 odds. With a porous defense, an offense with a questionable quarterback, dissention in the locker room and no identity, the Broncos are definitely off on the wrong foot in the Josh McDaniels era. Off-season Transactions The Broncos had a huge roster overhaul this off-season, which is never good for…

Got To Have It Redskins Select DE Jarmon

Nothing’s new here, the Washington Redskins are known for taking risks, whether it’s signing a nose tackle to a 100 million dollar deal or going after every top free agent regardless of need. Thinking money can buy and win it all is Washington’s style, and while selecting defensive end Jeremy Jarmon from Kentucky in the NFL Supplemental Draft on Thursday isn’t exactly a fair comparison to throwing money around, it is classic “got-to-have-it” Redskins mentality. The Skins now have to cough up a 3rd round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Five teams put in fourth-round claims for the 6-foot-3, 278-pound defensive end, a source told ESPN.com’s John Clayton. The Redskins now have only five remaining…

Favre Will Decide July 30th, Do You Still Care? Brett Favre told The Associated Press that he’ll give the Vikings an answer on whether or not he’ll play by July 30, the start of training camp. I’m sure the deadline will be pushed back again as Favre’s indecisive off-season has been one long boring “maybe”. I like Brett Favre, I enjoyed watching him for years with the Packers, but 10 years down the road I hope we don’t remember this on again, off again love affair with playing for the NFL. I know what you’re thinking, why doesn’t Favre get into coaching, or get a job with ESPN like all the other washed up players…

San Francisco 49ers 2009 Preview

San Francisco 49ers 2009 Preview When betting on NFL lines, one of the first things people look at is the starting quarterback. Unfortunately for the San Francisco 49ers, this is one of the biggest question marks on their team. The 49ers have become a scrappy team under head coach Mike Singletary, who took over mid-season. They still don’t have a trigger man or a lot of weapons on offense to really get out of the cellar in the NFC West, but they’re sure going to try. Offseason Transactions The San Francisco 49ers had a fairly quiet offseason. They needed to improve both their offensive and defensive lines and find a quarterback, but instead they added…
